Manny's Cafe

My parents and I stopped in Carrizozo for lunch on our way to Carlsbad. Needless to say, Carrizozo does not have very many options when it comes to dining. But Manny's was conveniently located on the street that connected us to the next highway and has a public restroom, so our choice was obvious.

It's small inside but not cramped. My dad ordered a cheeseburger, which was decent. I got the fish tacos, which were pretty good (though I didn't like that they came with cabbage, not lettuce). There was an "Asian" section on the menu that I would recommend avoiding. My mom got the Buddha Bowl, which consisted of vegetables on top of fried rice. The vegetables had a distinct canned taste to them and the fried rice was very bland. Stick with the American and Mexican options.

The service was great. Our waitress was nice friendly, and an older woman, probably a manager or the owner, stopped to chat with us briefly. Judging by the fact that no table remained unoccupied for long, Manny's is probably one of the best (if not the best) restaurants in Carrizozo and a solid option for those stopping by.
