We received turkey burgers after explaining that we were vegetarians and that we wanted the veggie burger. The manager seemed to think it  was funny even though we didn't find it a bit funny. A simple apology would have been helpful as well as getting the order right.

Love my margarita's with a lil salt on the rim, love good food that hits all your taste buds, and to top it off with top of the line service, sounds like a place i wanna be. Our server was Lisa Marie, we loved her so much that i just had to take a picture with her and we all gave her a hug on the way out, like she was family. Her favorite items on the menu are now our favorite, she is wonderful with kids, she showed my son & daughter how to spell their names in sign language. I feel truely blessed to have had Lisa Marie as our waitress, i have never had a server like her, i don't think anyone could ever top her service. We will always go back to Margaritaville, we only want Lisa Marie as our server, we don't care how long the wait is. I vote Lisa Marie the best server in Florida, maybe even in the USA. Margaritaville+Lisa Marie=Awesome

After a horrible customer service experience at Margaritaville in Honolulu (where we waited 15-20 minutes at the bar with NO service at all), I wasn't hurrying out to any Margaritaville anywhere. BUT friends wanted to go, so we went, and surprise, it wasn't that great.

We were seated upstairs, where I'm pretty sure they stow all the families with kids, since everyone around us had one or two with them. This was fine until my toddler kept wanting to climb the half-wall and skydive down to the first floor. Not their faults, just an aside. Anyway, we were greeted quickly by our waiter, who promptly tried to sell us margaritas by the pitcher. They had a sale going on for an event, but he went back and found out it doesn't start until 10pm. Well then. Why advertise it now?

So we ordered waters and spinach artichoke dip. When that arrived we were a little shocked by the portion size. I mean, maybe for two people it would be okay, maybe, but it was a small amount of dip and a lot of chips. I don't think it was worth the $11 they charged us for it. And it wasn't that tasty, just average, you know?

We ordered food, 3 burgers and a sandwich, and a kids meal to split between the two toddlers we had with us. Sides: Fries for others, onion rings for me, veggies for kids. Food came out eventually, not too fast and not too slow. Unfortunately, the kids ended up with fries and not veggies, and when we asked for the veggies we had originally ordered our waiter seemed none too happy to get them. He came back with a bowl of steamed green beans. Variety, right? Oh, and those onion rings I ordered? I guess they were $2 more - no one told us that! Boo.

The waiter was a bit odd. The atmosphere was fun, but touristy, not surprising. They really tried pushing their merchandise on us... no thanks!

Positives: Our waters were refilled promptly and there was a girl on stilts making balloon animals. The kids liked that! Also, we were seated right away.

I definitely wish we had gone to a local place just down the street instead of a chain. Oh well, I didn't really have a say!

The atmosphere and band was great. The service good. The food was expensive in price and mediocre in quality. Given the multitude of other good choices in the area, next time we will pass.

Good service. Food was good. Awkward people on stilts. Margarita didn't get me drunk like I was hoping.

This has to be the worst establishment I have ever been to. I came here with a group of my friends for dinner, the food was pretty good, and we were all enjoying ourselves. But that ended abruptly! This is long but worth reading -
While cashing out, I gave the waitress $40 to cover my $22 bill, and told her that I needed change. She came back and gave me $3. I politely told her that I had given her $40 and that I would like the correct amount of $18 back. She looked at me completely confused and denied that I had given her two twenties. She walked away and next thing I know I have the manager in my face accusing me of lying - he said that he couldn't accuse his server of stealing my money because they counted her bank. So I'm making all this up in hopes of gaining a quick buck?! I told him I want my money and I'm not leaving without it. I am a server myself, and I completely understand that mistakes happen. But this went above and beyond.

I continued to sit at my table, waiting for my money.  After sitting there for 20 minutes with no help - another manager came back with... *DRUM ROLL PLEASE*... a police officer. He told me that I had to leave immediately. At this point I felt like I was on another planet. What kind of establishment treats a customer this way when all they need is their correct amount of change?! I wasn't trying to cause a scene, I hadn't even gotten up from my table or raised my voice! I sat there and remained calm throughout the whole situation. Once again I said, "I would like my money and I'm not leaving until I get it." The manager then asked me to come with him, away from my table. Uneasy, I did and he pulled me out an emergency exit. I was dumbfounded. I said, "I do not know you and I am not stepping outside with you, this is ridiculous - all I want is my change." He then said, "show me some respect. I know that my server is not lying about this." And I said "I have been completely disrespected. I have no reason to lie, and if I don't get my money, you are technically stealing from me" - FINALLY, he handed me my $18 and said "take this and leave immediately, and you are never welcomed back"

I have never - IN MY LIFE - experienced such a horrible situation as this one. Thankfully, I stood my ground and was given my CORRECT change. Obviously, I will never be back, nor will any one in my party. We still cannot believe that this actually happened - and by MANAGEMENT STAFF. I hope everyone considers my experience before choosing to dine here - as you may be ripped off!

Service was great, Don did a great job of keeping our glasses full and bringing our food out as soon as it was ready. In the end though this was a huge tourist stop with prices to back it up.

The food was good and the drinks were great and the atmosphere was fun, but we both got extremely sick from it. It was disappointing to spend almost $100 just to throw it all up a couple hours later.

The best mahi fish tacos with rice and beans!  Everyone around us got the nachos and they HUGE and looked delicious.  Got a margarita on the rocks with no salt and it was yummy.  Nice to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Came back again this year for the same old menu. Love the music on the big screens and the atmosphere. Had a better server/bartender this year but would recomend Reggae Js Island Grill for food located on the other side of the street.

#Margaritaville #JimmyBuffett - View was incredible and easy parking without no wait to be seated for a beach view.  However, the food was dried out and lacking in the flavor of other Margaritavilles & the service was lacking. Normally the ambiance makes up for the food and high pricing but this location gets 2 stars due to the problems listed above.

EDIT: I have edited the review thanks to the spectacular follow up by the customer service team at Margaritaville Panama City.  While my original complaints still stand, I have experienced the food quality & service at the Las Vegas, Orlando and Pensacola locations (although Pensacola is an offshoot) and found it to be much higher quality. As such, I'll presume this lousy experience was a one off anomaly.  I'll update fully next time I'm in Panama City Beach.

C'mon lets get real here...this is a very popular place with the tourists, and as such its gonna be busy...which means that guess what...there may be a wait for a table...big surprise!
I can tell you that it is well worth the wait, if you are a fan of Jimmy Buffet, lost shakers of salt, parrot heads, and/or cheese burgers in paradise.

In reading some of the odd reviews here, I really wanted to give a sort of review of the "reviews", as well as an overall unbiased take on this place.

This is a place created for a fun party atmosphere, its a bar first and a restaurant second...people do understand what a "margarita" is right???
So you add the "ville" and you have this place, maybe the Chuck-E-Cheese in Panama City would better suit the underage ones complaining about too many drinks on the menu.

If you have a live band, expect the volume to be up...this is not a club with a private VIP room for special events, its a theme "bar" which is based around the song.
And guess what, the large private party probably took up a bunch of smaller tables which made the wait longer for some....just sayin!

I am all about fair and honest reviews, but some of the complaints I see are unwarranted and are a kin to people going into a Burger King and being mad that there is no taco's or pizza, which is not fair to the business.

So for my review which is based on the true "flavor" of this place, first of all, my server Tammy was really great, she was fun, had a couple of good stories and really made the visit fun.
I had the Cuban sandwich which was pretty decent in size, was filling and tasted  really good, my dining companion had the nachos which was really off the chain good, and great value for all that you get...and you really get a lot.

Bottom line, this is a fun tourist destination with a strong emphasis on the original location, which is party party.
I felt the food and drinks came quick, tasted good, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

My entire party would definitely come back...and may just do that later tonight.

Lisa R was our waitress and took very good care of our large party. Thank you. The food quality was very good, especially compared to many of the other restaurants near by which serve similar food with less results.

Wasting away again in Margaritaville. Have fun and stay patient. The food is average and the reason anyone goes is for the atmosphere, which is fun and lighthearted. The wait times are horrendous though. Take it in stride and enjoy your vacation! At least the proximity to Pier Park gives you plenty of options to burn your hour+ wait.

This restaurant was ok. There was nothing specular. There weren't very many food choices. 75% of the menu was drinks, and that did me no good since I am not 21. I just got the cheeseburger and fries. It was good. Not a very friendly waiter at all. Probably wouldn't go back if it was up to me.

The food is forgettable, but is this why people come here? No, they come for the Jimmy Buffet ambience: informal menu, live music, outside seating (if you want it), and margaritas. We found the service to be prompt and friendly, and the music was enjoyable. It's very kid friendly as well.

We came here on my best friends bachlorette party for dinner and we did not have a good time at all. First off, the people performing were WAY to loud. You couldn't hear a thing. Then she sat our group of 10 at a table so big that you couldnt reach the ketchup in the middle of the table. I'm serious, I have long arms too. We were like, are they for real? Who's idea was this? Who would want to sit at a table were you can't hear each other even when there is no live music? We were pretty disappointed.

The food was all meh. Except the nachos. I felt they were kind of cold, but the other girls really liked them. My cuban sandwhich was boring, the girls with the cheeseburgers said they were just OK...the only thing we really liked was the frozen drinks (not the margaritas- those were just OK too).

Our waitress wasn't the greatest. I feel bad for the bride to be that we wasted our friday night here. This is definitely a huge tourist trap....don't get sucked in!

Over priced due to tourist trap location, but the cheese burger in paradise is reasonable and delicious. Service was excellent. The restaurant was fun. Expect to spend between 60 and 80 for a family of four to have what would normally cost 25 at Chili's in any other town.

Went to Margaritaville the day before my beach wedding in Panama City Beach to check out their menu, the wings were AMAZING.  I spoke to one of their managers and told her that since they did not take reservations I would do my best to come in earlier to save some tables, she assured me that it would take less than half an hour to sit our group of 20.  I loved the food and atmosphere so much that a group of us went back at night to party .  So, instead of picking Olive Garden I decided to go with Margaritavilla for our post ceremony lunch.

Once we got to Margaritaville came the disappointment, the place was full and the manager I had spoken to the previous day assured me again it would be no problem getting us all seated in the balcony area.  We stood around the bar having a few drinks, all on my tab since I felt bad for making our guest that came from Chicago along with us with wait.  After an hour had passed I went up to the manager and she told me there were some Parrotheads taking up the balcony and wasn't sure how long they would be there!!!.  I was very upset considering the bar tab we getting high and we were all very hungry.  Finally, after another 40 or so minutes the Parrotheads finally left and we got to actually sit down for our lunch.

The manager did a great job getting our food in and out right away, after a $200 bar tab, it was nice to notice once the bill came the manager had comped us our appetizers.

Overall, the lack of reservations in a resort town that hosts a lot of weddings is a problem, but the food is amazing for being considered a bar.  I've visited other locations and like most reviews the service has been hit or miss, consistency on service would be nice, but the quality of food for the price offsets that a bit.

Can't wait to go to the Orlando location in August.....I just hope there aren't any Parrotheads on the balcony!!!!

We stopped by Margaritaville for lunch before heading back home yesterday. It's funny, because both my husband and I have eaten at several different Margaritavilles, and we always say it was a waste of money and we'd never go back. And then, we find ourselves back on their porch.

The menu has some enticing options, but nothing is ever fabulous. Yesterday, we ordered the nachos, seafood mac and cheese, and a top shelf margarita. The margarita was good, strong and tangy, yum! The nachos were ginormous...they could feed 5 easily. Although it looks impressive, the dish is fairly tasteless. For some reason, it's very bland. Next up was the seafood mac and cheese. For $20, I was expecting comfort food heaven on a plate. It was far from it. It did have lots of shrimp and lump crab, but the macaroni was on the softer side, and the sauce was a bit runny. Again, this dish was bland.

Service was great, as was my margarita. A plus was being able to sit outside and watch the waves, and the weather was perfect. But, we walked away saying what we always do, " Let's never go there again!"

Any parrot head has to stop
Food is ok. Atmosphere - as expected
Can be a wait.   But as a tourist, probably worth the trip. If this is your one an only trip to the beach this is a must stop. Plus the pier is a pretty cool stroll   Kid  friendly but really nothing special -
Actually make a better cheese burger in paradise at home.

Why did I go here?  Over priced bad food with creative names.  The decor was cool but, so what.  Singing and guitar playing does not necessarily make for good food. The guy sang a song about cheeseburgers.  Sang a song.

You would think that the place would at least have decent margaritas - they were absolutly nothing special.

First off I must say that I am a bit embarrassed that I am reviewing Margaritaville because it's such a cliche tourist stop, and I go for the local favorite type places, but I was out numbered in the voting. This is a solid restaurant though. I honestly can't complain about anything here except the cheesy island/country songs blaring on repeat. Everything I tried was good, and all the people at my table had positive things to say about their dishes. But I wasn't blown away either, and the food is your typical "tourist" food. I mean, the menu covers every type of food from pasta to fajitas, and from burgers to seafood.

I ordered their steak fajitas, and it was more than enough food (they do well with their portion sizes). It came with wild rice, homemade guac, sour cream, saulteed onions and peppers, steak, mixed shredded cheese, lettuce, and four steamed flour tortillas. All of it was good, especially together. My counterpart ordered their Volcano Nachos. WHOA! They were huge, literally volcanic, piled high with sour cream, chicken (by choice), guac, scallions (asked them to remove these), chopped tomatoes, black beans, melted cheese, and corn tortilla chips. It all was good, but the chips were a bit salty (and I like mine salty).

Good service, good food, but not my kind of place typically: too partyish, and loud, and too touristy. I won't come here again.

Completely overrated and reminds of what Hard Rock Cafe is like. However, the setting was wonderful and they have excellent service. Do NOT Order the Tropical Hurricane drink if you want to get drunk or even slightly buzzed. It basically just tastes like a smoothie with no alcohol in it so I asked to get it changed to a Bahama Mama and my waitress did it for me without charge, without making a fuss about it, and even gave me the recommendation of ordering the Bahama Mama. You have the option of ordering their drinks with a souvenir cup that you can take home with you after you're done.

The place is beautiful and you look straight out to the beach. They have a deck area downstairs and upstairs, a live band that plays at night, and the dining area is full of blue lights. Their souvenir shop opens til 12AM so you have time to buy an overpriced but really cute souvenir for yourself.

The food here is not good. However, their excellent service and atmosphere make up for it. This is a place you definitely want to go to just to say you've been here and had the Margaritaville for the experience but I would never come here to experience amazing food.

Jimmy Buffet definitely struck the right cord with Margaritaville. The atmosphere is fun and lively and their margaritas are delightfully strong. I would say some of the best I've had. I didn't want to assume that  because it is called Margaritaville, it houses the best of tequila-infused drinks. However, after frequenting both the Margaritaville in Vegas and here, I'd say they rightfully deserve the Margaritaville title.Besides the grade A drinks, the food was quite good for being a chain. I had the chicken fajitas and a bite of the fish tacos and there was nothing commercial or icky about them. I scraped my plate clean!

As my group was nearing the end of our meal, a band came out on the mini stage and started playing some alternative rock music. They were great! Overall, the atmosphere, service, food, and drinks were nothing short of top shelf.

I have had opportunities to visit Margaritavilles several times in my travels but always resisted. I assumed it would be like Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood...long on memorabilia but short on food. We were vacationing in Panama Beach and saw Margaritaville and decided to try it out. I'm glad we did.

First of all, the Margaritas are great! I tried 3 different recipes and couldn't decide which one I liked most. The food was very good as well. I had a Shrimp Caesar salad and ate every bit. I tried the clam dish my wife ordered and was equally impressed.

The ambience wasn't as campy as I thought it would be. It was a family-friendly atmosphere but it was also very cool & casual. The projected TV image showed music videos including Jimmy Buffett and a live (cover) band came on at 9:00 that was very good with a mix of Mayer, Mraz & Buffett songs. The gift shop was very nice with plenty of Parrothead memorabilia. The service was good and the cost was acceptable. I plan to visit the Magaritaville in Nashville soon. I just gotta try the Cheeseburger in Paradise!

My friend and I ordered a Mushroom Burger and it was an above average burger. I usually don't eat burgers unless I'm craving for it or there is nothing else to eat. I didn't expect much but this Mushroom Burger surpassed my expectations. It wasn't bad at all and I would definitely order this again

Besides the food, the decor was really really nice. It was definitely decked out. literally. They had an imitated deck in the large restaurant, plenty of tables and chairs, sometimes there is a live band, and a souvenir shop. This restaurant was definitely crazy huge!

My goal is to find the best local restaurants... this place is a chain. We flew in on a Tuesday afternoon and were pretty hungry. My parents picked us up at the airport (they had been driving for 16 hours straight to get there). We ended up driving by Pier Park and seeing all of the restaurants. We looked at the menus at a few places and decided on Margaritaville. None of us really drink - we just wanted to eat. It was probably 2/2:30pm so there wasn't a wait. We ate outside on the patio. It was still mid-70s and the sun was coming in and out from behind the clouds.

We all ordered entree salads. I had the Asian chicken salad. My husband ordered the Santa Fe chicken salad (I think). My mom had the mango chicken salad. And my dad ordered the shrimp and crab salad. I loved the crispy wontons on my salad. The dressing was tasty. There were all kinds of veggies on it. I couldn't finish it all either. It was huge! The salad was piled high in a giant bowl. I tasted my dad's salad and liked the taste of the shrimp and crab. It was a creamy salad mix on top of greens and other veggies. Didn't look as healthy as mine, so I'm glad I ordered what I did. I'd say it was a little pricey for salads, but a decent meal overall. The view couldn't be beat. Sitting along the Gulf of Mexico enjoying a mid-afternoon meal is pretty awesome.

If you are looking for a great time and don't mind a long to moderate wait than this is a must visit. As expected the restaurant has a party atmosphere where being calm and collected is not on the menu.

You can eat outside on the front deck or inside both equally as pleasing. Both in and out offer live music plenty of drinks and enthusiastic waitresses. The food is better than would be expected from a tourist style hot spot but lets be honest you aren't going for the food.

I had the "Cheese burger in paradise" and it was good but nothing overly special. All in all we had a great time and will go back when we visit PCB again.

I had the shrimp and sausage jambalaya. The jambalaya was OK .  I also had a "5 O'clock Somewhere" margarita - they give you a glass to take home. Which is good considering how much I paid for it.

My friend and I sat outside but I recommend a place in the shade otherwise the sun is right in your face. Nice view of the ocean. steps away from the beach. Inside, they have Jimmy Buffet music and videos on the big screen but I'm not his biggest fan so I don't care much about that.

The food is decent, but you're really here because your wife or kids forced you to come.  Admit it.

Jimmy Buffet is a marketing guru.  If it can be labelled Margaritaville, it's most likely on sale in this joint.

There is MUCH better food in the PCB, but this is the best place in town to grab a beer and burger in a restaurant that has a giant drug smuggling plane that is shot down by a fake cannon and is forced to drop a four foot tall salt shaker out of its cargohold.  Scout's honor.

We arrived at the airport late in the evening. After asking the airport staff for good places to eat, one immediately said, "Oh! Jimmy Buffet's restaurant." After taking directions, we picked up our rental car and drove about 30 minutes -- from Panama City Airport -- to "Margaritaville."

We parked by the movie theater. The walk is about 10 minutes... through an outdoor shopping center. We arrived through the front door at about 8 PM. The wait was long, as it was a Friday night. The hostess told us that the wait would be an hour to an hour and a half for the patio area, and 45 minutes for the dining area. However, there was no wait for the bar.

So to the bar we went. We started off with a margarita. At almost $20 for a margarita, I was a bit surprised. But ah, you get to keep the "collector's glass!" Worth it, right? Perhaps if you don't forget to bring it home with you... which is what happened to me! But even if you don't forget, me thinks not so much...

Nonetheless, the first thing I notice when looking around was the giant airplane that was hanging from the ceiling; complete with spinning propellers! Also, there was a live band.

After a couple minutes, we opt to switch to the dining area -- as the wait was no longer existent. We then ordered the "Peel and Eat Shrimp." The shrimp is simmered in beer, and comes with lemon and cocktail sauce. Not bad.

I then ordered the Sirloin Steak. The steak came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The steak was good, though there was a bit too much butter over it.

Nonetheless, if I ever find myself in the Panama City Beach area, I will likely return. But if so, I won't forget to bring my glass!

This is about the only theme restaurant that I like. But then, I'm a parrothead, so take what you want from that.

There's a large gift shop with all sorts of goodies from T-shirts to glasses to grills. Grills? Yes, grills. And blenders. You know, for MARGARITAS?

Anywhoo, we waited about 45 minutes for a table. (The nieces really wanted to go here, what with all the balloon animal possibilities.) Our server was the bomb-diggity. She was on the ball, attentive and patient with the kiddies.

I ordered a pomegranate margarita and found it seriously lacking. Too much sour mix and not enough pomegranate.

For dinner, I ordered the quesadilla and it was pretty good. Not the best I've had, but decent for Margaritaville.

Really, the draw of this place is the atmosphere. Yes, it's family friendly, but it also has a party air about it, especially during the sing-alongs. The drinks are good usually, so I was surprised by this fluke of a margarita. And the men on stilts doing the balloon animals are funny, engaging and talented.  Definitely a vacation dinner experience, and not a community hangout.

Having dined at "Margaritaville" almost daily while in Cancun on business in 2003, I had my fill for years to come. (Yes, at one time, I was one of those "tour operators" that dragged your kiddies across the border into the cesspool of sunburns, drunken MTV parties & unprotected, irresponsible sex) Yeah, I know for a fact God will punish me with a drug addicted daughter who gets pregnant by a "Gangsta' Rapper." Possibly well deserved?

Back to the review----while on vacation in PCB, and visiting the new Pier Park, wifey wanted to go in for a margarita.
We grabbed a few bar stools in the outside bar. Granted, this is known as a "tourist trap" and the only reason I dined here so often while in Cancun is primarily due to the fact it was always free. So, I wasn't ecstatic with the fact I would have to pay. Nevertheless, our Bartender, Marina, was extremely friendly, and pointed out what drinks were "foo foo", and which ones were potent. Of course, I went with the potent, and was not disappointed.

After a few drinks, and socializing with other patrons, we did try the food. Granted, it's a little pricey, but for a chain, they really do offer tasty food.

Will we return when back in PCB----Of course. Good, potent drinks, and extremely friendly service!
