Been here once and have been meaning to go again. Staff was great. Food is amazing (especially the bread sticks and the sauce to dip it in!).
Good atmosphere, though the lighting is pretty low.
The only downside I could think of is that you have to ask for more bread sticks, they usually just bring, I think, one per person.
This was our second time eating here in 2 weeks. We loved it for the first time and decided to have a bday dinner here. Our plan was 6 people. last minute it turned into 22. This place is pretty small and at 8 pm on a Friday night, they somehow sat all of us, the watress and staff were incredible. As usual great food, friendly staff! Thanks again Mario's! We will be back again and again!
Review Source:Great  food, and a wonderful staff. Very family owned atmosphere. I have never had a bad experience here. The first time we went my first reaction was WoW ! The Italian décor is old and everywhere. Just a little to much. But then the crisp zesty salad comes.  And then the soft warm bread sticks. Then the food! Oh my heavens the food! Every bite fulfills your cravings. Sometimes,  I'll just call in to buy some sauce. When you have an order to go I swear they give you extra food.  You must also try the sangria. Pink or red they make any hot miserable day in Havasu so much better.
Review Source:Very noisy restaurant. And very cramped. Wine glasses were dirty and when I told the waitress she got me a new glass of wine and it was in another dirty wine glass. The appetizer plates were dirty too. Food was only OK. Wouldn't go back because the whole restaurant is dirty. Pretty good service though.
Review Source:This was our third visit to Mario's in the last 5 month's. The first two times we were happy with the food & the service being ok. On the last visit, I ordered the Chicken Florintino which I thought was a spinich stuffed chicken breast on pasta. The dish was presented all mixed together and on the edge of being way too salty. The salad was just ok - the bread was good and included " Dippin Sauce" as the waiter stated it  I laughed and told him "This wasn't McDonalds". I think the food and decor (early to mid 70's) of this place don't suppport the price's. The employees are very young and nice but just don't give you the experience that you are paying for. it seems the the owners have gotten way to comfy with what they have been serving up to the public. I kinda like this place and hope they take my review in a positive manner. Until someone tells me the menu and decor has changed even a little i have to question If i will spend anymore money here. ($30-$45 each time)
Review Source:I expected this place to be a lot better than it was.
First of all, the service was something awful. Â We waited more than 25 minutes for the server just to take our beverage orders. Â Then we finally ordered and started eating, I had to get my own refills from the bar because we never saw our server again until we got the bill. Â That's TERRIBLE and inexcusable.
That said, the food was just "okay". Â I was expecting a lot better, especially for the price.
In my personal opinion, if you want Italian food in Havasu, go to Agelina's. Â It's far, FAR better.
Every time I visit my parents I have to go to dinner at Mario's.
Finally there is a real Italian restaurant in Havasu. My wife is Italian so eating Italian out has always been tough, everything gets compared to her mothers' food, and her mother would approve of Mario's. From the family style salad and bread sticks to their nightly specials everything is original. I highly recommend their chicken parm, I haven't had one this good ever!
If you go on a weekend I suggest reservations, if that's not possible be prepared to wait .
If you like real Italian food from a "mom and pop" restaurant this is the place for you.
Decided to finally try this place. We went on a Saturday night and the place was pretty busy (that's a good sign!) we had a short wait, maybe 10 minutes for the 4 of us. We sat at the bar and had a drink while we waited for our table.
Definitely a 'family owned and run' business which is nice. I'm pretty sure it was husband and wife behind the bar and running around the place.
We had great service and the food was really good.
You can't go wrong with unlimited bread sticks. We got 3 baskets of them.
I had the lasagna. It was served smoking hot and was really good. I would say a larger portion that at most Italian places.
The place has a really nice vibe to it. Not fancy or fussy. Just casual and relaxed with friendly people.
Prices were maybe a little on the high side, well... maybe not for Havasu?? I think my lasagna was $13.00, but that did include salad and bread sticks.
Also, we found a coupon in the white sheet for $2 off per entree.
Hey, every little bit helps!!
I liked it better than Angelina's (which is also good) and WAY better than Amici's which is a flop.
Only open for dinner and closed on Sundays.
I've had this place on my radar since it opened up over a year ago - shudda got over here sooner - instant favorite.
Mario's opened up in a long time Havasu restaurant/bar called the Frigate. I pictured in my mind a complete remodel inside with white table clothes and all that jazz. WOW, was I wrong. They place has been mostly unchanged and it fits perfectly with the casual family-style Italian food/service here. Service was great too with a nice "thanks for coming-in" from the owners behind the bar as we exited.
Dinner entrees come with AYCE salad and breadsticks. The salad had a good-fresh mix of stuff in it with Italian dressing. So good we had a second round. I won't tell how many servings of breadsticks we had 'caus we don't how-to-act when there's AYCE breadsticks!! It's just embarrassing sometimes!?!
Anyway, I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. As soon as they sat it down in front of me I knew I would have some to take home - huge bowl. Well, it was so fresh and delicious, Tim looks over at some point and asks "what part were you going to take home?" Yah, I ate it all - was just too tasty to stop eating.
We'll definitely be back and if they don't change a thing they will always get 5 stars from me.
OH, they got Mudsharks Full Moon on tap at the lounge-style bar.......love that stuff.
