Okay, this was one of the 'best' OK tips I got from people.
Solid 4 - not a 3, but not a 5 either.
INSIDE - pretty ratty, but not unclean. Â Small town BBQ place, it was fine.
SERVICE - people were nice and confused. Â I'd have gotten more
food, but they took so long plus when I went up to order the girl left
me standing there like an idiot, so I left.
PRICE - it was cheap, no issues there
FOOD - nothing really amazing except rings, but it was all good but brisket
Ribs - very good, excellent btw
Sausage - not unique, but really good as well
Sauce - not my favorite, but good. Â Had 2 kinds, which I respect
Sliced Beef - really unimpressive, think they may not really serve
this and do chopped usually. Â Was below average
Rings - some of the best ever, great job guys
Fries - very good as well
Not a bad place, but not worth driving more than 30-40 minutes for.
I just discovered this place a few weeks ago, but since I only go through Okmulgee twice a week for work it took a while to find. Â It's a little over an hours drive from where I live, but the journey would be worth it for a weekend getaway. Â The great thing is they give you enough to feed an army on your plate! Â
Now I've made it a tradition to make my Friday stop by Massey's for lunch and have the leftovers for dinner.  I'm actually thinking of reasons to go to Okmulgee some weekend right now, it's really that good!  And the baked beans are the best I've had since my mother's so many years ago.
What a nice surprise in a small town. Â The restaurant is pretty small and very busy but for good reason. Â The ribs fall off the bone, the baked beans were the best I have had, the corn nuggets were unique and tasty. Â Lastly the blackberry cobler with ice cream was off the charts! Â Worth a stop if you find yourself in the area.
Review Source:tasty hot-links dinner !!! Â The place was packed w/ customers! Â hot-links = spicy and smoky. Â it has the BEST tasting pickles ... ( and I don't even like pickles). Â try their house special, it comes w/ combination of meat; good samples of what they offer.
will visit again if I am in town.
Massey's is a good BBQ place. Â I ordered the dinner platter with chicken and pulled pork. Â The pulled pork was good, but the chicken wasn't my favorite. Â Sides were potato salad and baked beans. Â I liked the baked beans, the potato salad was average. Â The price was a bit high though, 11 dollars for one person including tax.
If you like BBQ, you will probably like this place though.
First, I am a delivery driver, so I get to try food not in Tulsa. And if you ever want to try anything worth the gas,its this. Massey's is located in Okmulgee on hwy 75. Â The cool thing about it is that is started as a "roach coach" and just exploded from there in popularity. Â It now has its own building right off the road. Â The only downside is that parking is a little short during peak hours. Â They generally open up at 11 and from there is packed.
The food is ridiculous.  So much so that whenever we have a driver go to Okmulgee, he takes order from everyone. I'm a big fan of the chopped brisket and spicy sauce.  Okmulgee is know for its bbq and I think this place is Okmulgee.
