The McDonalds at Blythewood is right off I-77, easy to find. Â The location is a remodel to look more hipster; with unique tables and counter seating. Â There are two flat panel monitors that typically show local OTA weather. Â On my most recent visit (around 10pm), the location was mildly messy on a couple of tables and drink machines; the men's restroom was clean and non-smelly. Â Staff at location were friendly while food orders took a little longer than normal because of the high traffic through drive-thru, but wasn't a big deal.
My meal on my most recent visit included a 10-piece chicken nugget combo with fries and drink, also purchased a strawberry & creme turnover and chocolate milkshake. Â The 10-piece was good and standard; the fries were golden and crispy, not overly salted either. Â The turnover was amazing, gotta try that. Â I got Dr. Pepper for beverage during the meal and the first machine (further away from front counter) was mostly water-downed; the second machine was more correct. Â The milkshake, that was takeout, was also very good. Â
Overall, it was a very good late-night meal. Â As a oasis along the interstate, it fits the bill and would likely visit again when traveling and have a hankering for McDonalds. Â I gave this location 4 out of 5, because I am comparing it with other McDonalds and the choice selection available at this particular location.
While I cant speak to their food, since this was really just a quick stop for the restroom and some coffee...this place must be awesome because it was packed. The placed looked very good on the inside, very updated and clean. The restrooms were clean and the coffee was hot. If I even was in the area again, I would stop here!
Review Source:McDonald's is usually a safe bet for food, assuming you like sodium and fat and lord knows what else they chuck into their meat. Aside from that, it is seriously consistent. A Big Mac and fries from the McD's in Blythewood SC is going to be exactly the same as a Big Mac in Burlington VT or Ballwin MO. And usually the bathrooms are going to be clean. Not always, but usually.
Today's visit was a bathroom stop off the Interstate and a large coffee to keep me awake for the rest of the drive. The bathroom was clean, the service was snappy and the coffee was good. No complaints, A-OK.
Recently renovated it and I already knew the service was bad, and figured it couldn't get worse. I was wrong. They now have two drive thrus, side by side, leading into one line. This solves nothing. You have to repeat your order at both windows and it's not ready by the time you're there, because they have no clue how to keep up with what car is up next. McDonalds needs to hire a new "brilliant" renovation specialist. You know, one that actually makes good decisions and plans. I just ordered three sundaes, and it took 30 minutes to get them..
