Decent-to-good BBQ to be found at this humble, cinder block structure sitting off I20 in Terrell. My man and I stopped in for a brisket/sausage combo plate and was very pleased that they asked if we wanted sauce on it. Of course we decried the debasement of what we hoped was good beef, and the lady taking our order acceded--which was just as well because their sauce had too much acidity. About 15 minutes later, we were presented with some moist, fork-tender beef accentuated by a pleasant smoky taste. I wished the bark had more seasoning in flavor however and we noted a good amount of unrendered fat on our slices--still they were quite tasty. The sausage on the other hand tasted commercial, barely sandwich grade stuff, and ultimately forgettable. Potato salad tended on the mushy side, while the cole slaw utilized a stronger pickling spice than usual.
McDonald's sits adjacent to truck fueling station, so don't expect fancy digs.
