I'm ignoring the quality of the food entirely for this, because hey - this is McDonald's, and they are not in the food business. This is a customer service issue, damn it.
So. Dear McDonald's: if you're offering two-for-one apple pies, and you run out, it's better to tell the customer that rather than handing their pie-free meal over and charging them anyway. Also, when the customer notices the absence of said pies and returns to collect them, "uh, we have *one* left, but it'll take twelve minutes. Do you want to wait?" isn't a particularly pragmatic response in a drive-thru situation.
Oh, and there's really no need to say to my wife "oh, YOU'RE THE APPLE PIE LADY". It's embarrassing enough to eat at McDonald's in the first place, but that's how a person can develop a complex.
TWELVE MINUTES?! Just gimme the damn pie, I don't care if it's frozen. I own my own microwave.
They didn't even offer to give us our dollar back.
