A McDonald's in the US (except maybe ones in Hawaii and New Mexico) cannot get more than 3 stars (see below on the extra star), after all this is generic fast food. But having stopped by some truly horrible McDonald's recently, I felt compelled to write a good review for what might be the only well run McDonald's left in the USA. Â
The food is McDonald's food, what do you expect? Â
I wonder if McD's actually employs architects to design these places, I would hope not! Â If they did, then McD's got horribly ripped off. Â The layout is horrible, it is impossible to know if someone has ordered or is waiting for their order.
The service is good, a missing quantity in most other McD's. This place actually trains its staff to pay attention to waiting customers and to get their orders. That means you will actually get waited on and get your order in a timely manner. Not much to ask for, but too much to ask for from most McD's in the US except possibly this one.
The last Saturday of Summer months (May-September) feature one of the biggest car shows in the area. Â I've seen over 300 cars here and it keeps growing year by year. Â Ambience is provided by Beach Boy style music and the owners are mostly approachable. Â Sure, it's mostly muscle cars, but you get some other cars too, and how many small towns get a regular show that big? Â That car show alone bumps this up to 4 stars, maybe a record for a McD's?
