Besides, Golden Corral, Cook Out and Smithfield's BBQ, your restaurant choices in Laurinburg are very limited. So much to my delight, we found out that the hotel we were staying in had a grille located right next door and that they offered take-out.
I ordered the American burger and it was very flavorful with the beef being exactly how I ordered it (medium rare) and had extra vegetables on it like onions, lettuce, tomato and mushrooms. VERY good burger! Not like the crap you can get at your normal fast-food restaurant. Not greasy at all.
My husband has the seafood Alfredo and devoured it in minutes. It was a huge serving with scallops, shrimp and crab meat in a creamy lemon sauce. We ordered a Maryland crab-cake on the side and were equally pleased. It came with a lemon and was equal parts crunchy and soft in the middle. Very tasty!
You MUST order the bloomin' onion appetizer which tastes and looks almost identical to the one they serve at Outback Steakhouse, including the tangy horseradish dipping sauce.
Great service and although our order took about 30-45 minutes to be made because they were extremely busy, we are looking forward to coming back and trying the rest of the items on their menu.
You will leave full, that's a promise!
Not much choice in Laurinburg, but actually a descent restaurant. Â Typically, I make a point not eat in restaurants that share a sign with a third tier hotel (Comfort Inn) but this place defied my expectations. If you can get past the dark green Scottish them (including tartan carpets and vinyl green table cloths) the food is unexceptionally creative. Â Love their Caesar salads and herb chicken.
Review Source:I'm here for work several days week and the main place we go for dinner is McDuff's.
I must say that in a small town, I'm not surprised that there aren't more restaurants to try. In saying this, I'm glad McDuff's is right around the corner from work and the hotel! The food is very good - a lot of selection and like I said, you wouldn't think a very small town had such a great selection. (In my own opinion of course.)
There's seafood, steaks, pasta, specialities, burgers, salads, apps etc. There's a great selection of different kinds of food and to be honest I'm glad that this is my go-to place here in Laurinburg.
Good apps we've tried: Crab Dip (AWESOME), Spinach & Artichoke Dip (DELICIOUS)
Bad apps we've tried: Cocktail shrimp - it was...warm. And I think it's because the shrimp was frozen and they just heated it up. Blah.
But overall, great food, big portions, and the price is not too shabby!
One of the best places to eat when in Laurinburg. We went on the recommendation of a friend who raved about the food and we were not disappointed. Located in front of the Day's Inn, but not attached. We started with the Hot Crab Dip ($7.99). Served with pita triangles, it was lots of crab, very little filler and very tasty. I had "The Zinger" which was a black bean and chicken/cheese quesadilla ($7.99). Very good. Homemade black bean and corn salsa, crispy grilled tortilla with lots of cheese and chicken. My wife had the "Baby Bleu Salad" with grilled chicken ($11.99). It was loaded with fresh strawberries, mixed greens, nuts, and chunks of bleu cheese and served with a balsamic vinegarette dressing. The chicken was a bit bland by itself, but when the dressing was added, it woke up the flavor for everything. They have a number of specialty burgers and chicken sandwiches in the $7-$11 range, and a nice selection of steak, chicken, pasta, and seafood entrees in the $11-$22 range. Very professional and friendly waitstaff. Comfortable decor. We'll be back.
