Oh boy... I think I may have just discovered my new favorite restaurant! Â Pizza, salads, sandwiches, and much much more. Â While I had trouble selecting what I would eat for lunch, I ultimately settled on McGinty's version of a French dip sandwich, vowing to counter my indecisiveness with as many return trips as necessary to try everything on the menu. Â It all sounded so good! Â My sandwich was stacked perfectly with moist and tender roast beef. Â The bun was topped with a dash of rosemary/sea salt - a surprisingly tasty touch! Â A lemonade, side of horseradish and thick French fries rounded out the meal. Â The environment was very pleasant - I think they may have had their music turned to "The Loft" Sirius station...really nice to listen to in the background. Â Very nice, clean restrooms. Â Also thought the bar looked like a cozy place to sit with a whiskey or glass of wine on a cold winter's afternoon or evening. Â I'll definitely be back. Â The Irish cream cheesecake and a cup of coffee are calling!
Review Source:Stopped for lunch, our third time to this great restaurant. We now have favorites--the salmon sandwich and the chicken, avocado, bacon sandwich. They are perfect. They come with a choice of soup or salad. We had one of each. Great Gouda dressing on the side salad and very tasty fresh vegetable soup. The service was fast and friendly. We will be back, many times!
Review Source:Five of us stopped here after spending the weekend in the area. The service was good and the food was good. The atmosphere was a typical Irish pub feeling. The beer list wasn't extensive, but they do offer some Guinness layered beers, which expands the offering. The bloody mary was nice and spicy. We had an assortment of food from sandwiches to salads to pizza to the pizza pie. All of it was yummy and the prices were reasonable. In all, it was a good solid place for lunch.
Review Source:Had dinner here last night. Â Started with the Guinness & Gouda soup. Â Man was it good!! Â I mean I want it everyday good!! Â 2 in the party and had the fried chicken. Â They both said it was very good! Â My BF got the Shepherds Pie. Â Neither of us thought it was spectacular, but I'm not a stew person in the first place. Â I had the hooker, a pizza pot pie. Â It was pretty good! Â
Ok, now the service. Â It was outstanding! Â Our waiter was very attentive and personable. Â Could not have been better!
The best restaurant in Teller county.  I typically eat here 1-3 times a month, usually with friends that love the food here as much as I do. The Irish pub fare style food is prepared  by a professional chef and kitchen staff.  I recommend any sandwich, wood fired pizza, fish & chips (Friday only) and any salad. The service is always friendly and speedy. The decor is attractive, warm and befitting of the mountain location. I enjoy watching the wood fired pizza oven and cooks from the dining area. When you first walk in you are in the bar waiting area with high tops for having a drink while you wait for your table.  Expect a wait for dinner most evening and for sure on weekends. The prices are very reasonal considering the high quality of the food. McGintys has their own signature "McGinty's Red" brew made by Bristo Brewing in Colorado Springs. My only complaint is the cost of the wine - $6 glass - for ordinary wines.  Not a problem for me as I love the McGintys Red beer.
Review Source:I'm a sucker for Irish Pubs! If the place sells Guinness and can do a scrumptious Reuben or good fish and chips I'm in heaven.
I'm going to start by saying that LUNCH is the best time to go. Â Here's my rational...that is the only time they have the Andy Fitzgerald. Â Why is this so important to me...well, it's the best darn meatloaf Sammy I've ever put in my face! Â And the cool thing is it's a different sammy every day! Â The meatloaf is the same, but the culinary accoutrements are different EVERYDAY. Â I think in total I've tried at least six different variants of this thing and not a one has been a disappointment.
Ok, so if you can't make it for lunch and there is no chance of an Andy Fitzgerald for you, then may I suggest one of these options?
Entrée:
Reuben - you can't go wrong with this guy, it's a pub staple tender corned beef with all the goodies
The Rose of Tralee - turkey sammy with brie, apples and cranberry mayo....yummmmmmm
Shepard's Pie - who doesn't love meat & veg covered in garlic cheese taters
Galway Hooker - pizza pot pie - it's like a pizza and a pot pie made a baby and named her delicious!
Irish potato soup - starchy tatery comfort with a spoon
Starters:
Salmon Enchanted evening boxty - this is only an appetizer, but it is a tasty one
Hun Lee O'Conner - what a delicious contradiction...St Patty's Day meal wrapped in an egg roll and fried...true starter heaven
Brick Oven Brie - mmmm...warm gooey cheese with apples, pears, and fig jam...mmmmmm
-- Fridays Only -- Â : (
Fish & Chips w/ Clam Chowder
In all the times I've eaten here I don't think I've ever saved room for dessert...which is sad since they have tasty ones (or at least they sound tasty). Â Maybe one of these days I'll actually save some room for a sweet treat (or just order it first!)
I love the atmosphere, hard wood with warm lighting and comforting colors. Ireland is a main theme for the place (which makes since...it is a pub). Â But the most beautiful place for me (and my hubby) is our respective restrooms. Â We LOVE the look of them, the same motif as the dining area but with rustic/cottage fixtures. Â I want to know who designed the place so when we build our home we can call on them to design it. =)
Oh yes, before I forget...they have Guinness on TAP!
Who would have expected such good Irish pub food in a tiny little town. Â We had the Guinness fondue, fish and chips, and the salmon salad. Â I wasn't a huge fan of the salmon salad. Â But everything else was great. Â The Guinness fondue was enough for a whole meal. Â The large fish and chips would have been plenty for two people. Â Also enjoyed the outdoor fireplace.
Review Source:We stopped here for dinner on the way up to Cripple Creek, after reading and hearing that there is not much in the way of great food in the gambling town. We were glad we did. We ordered a pizza and it was pretty good. It was thin and cooked in their wood oven. It arrived on a granite stand....which i tought would make it cold in a jiffy but, to much of my surprise, it was not bad at all. I thik I would stop back again if I had the chance. The service was very cordial and the food was good. Nice little pub.
Review Source:Really great beer cheese soup! Â They also have pizza with potatoes on it. Â The wife loved that. Â
I've also seen kids order personal pizza's that they get to "make" themselves. Â Topping are brought to them, and they are allowed to assemble their pizza before it goes in the oven. Â Nice touch!
Ate here for the first time this week. Â The food was decent. Â I had the corned beef and cabbage and my husband loved the lamb pot pie. Â We ordered the blackbery cobbler for dessert. Â Yuk. Â It tasted canned. Â I was surprised since blackberries are in season. Â A friend ordered the bread pudding which seemed to be the better option. Â The restaurant has nice ambiance but I was freezing in there. Â It seemed quite chilly and I wore my jacket during the entire meal. Â I would try this restaurant again if in the area, maybe in a warmer month. Â I did want to try the fish and chips they are famous for but they only make them on Fridays. Bummer. Â I thought the service was fine. Â Not exceptional, but not terrible like some of the reviews here.
Review Source:We drive highway 24 a lot between Colorado Springs and points west. Â This is one of the restaurant "gems" that exist along that route. Â My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the warm decor, and the friendly service (this was around noon on a Friday afternoon) that greeted us as we entered the half full restaurant. Â Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Â We ordered a Frenchy McGillicuddy pizza (Roast beef tips and grilled sweet onions with sundried tomatoes, spinach leaves, roasted garlic, melty bleu cheese & frsh mozzarella) that was fabulous. Â We each had a side salad that was large, cold, crispy and just about perfect. Â We sat just next to the oven, so we watched the cook make our pizza from scratch and bake it in the large pizza oven. Â The lunch special for the day was fish and chips, which we didn't order, but we watched several orders go to diners around us and we almost wished we had ordered that dish. Â We WILL got back, and we highly recommend you try this wonderful restaurant as you pass through Divide. Â Just make sure you don't blink as you drive through - you might miss it. Â My ONLY minor complaint is that the wi-fi wasn't working. Â We needed to check a map for our drive west, and had to settle for weak 3G.
Review Source:POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. This restaurant staff is very rude and incapable of dealing with a crowd. They need to fire their current staff and hire a manager that can run a restaurant. Serious organization and customer service skills needed here. Please close up or hire a better staff. This poorly run restaurant must start with poor leadership.
Review Source:My husband and I had a great experience at McGinty's. We ordered the fried asparagus, which came with a fantastic dipping sauce, for an appetizer. Before dinner we enjoyed the potato soup, which was good, but the Guinness gouda soup was incredible.
My husband ordered the salmon for dinner which ended up being a huge portion of both fish and vegetables. He said that the salmon was a bit dry but tasted great with the veggies. I ordered the fried chicken which was smothered with just the right amount of a lemony gravy and blue cheese, and came with some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. For dessert we had fried Oreos which didn't seem to be fully cooked, but were still pretty good. Everything was reasonably priced.
The reason I do not give McGinty's five stars was that it took ages for our Oreos to be served. Our waitress and the hostess, both of whom were very nice, checked on them constantly but it still took at least half an hour for them to be served.
Overall, a great experience!
Mom's been raving about this place for years. Finally got the chance to try it on one of my visits. Impressive.
Mom and Dad swear by the fish and chips, saying on a typical night the wait can be over an hour at prime time for a table to enjoy it. Dad says to order the regular order as the larger one isn't large enough to make the cost worth it.
You can get a salad instead of chips.
I had the ruben. I've had better rubens, but this was a good sandwich.
I had the beer cheese soup. Not a big fan. It was fairly good, but had a distinct smokey flavor. When asked and I mentioned this, I was told it was made with Guiness. I've had Guiness and not noticed this smokey taste. But in this soup, I didn't like it. It was also very watery, more so than any other beer cheese soup I've ever had.
They have fried oreos, drizzled with chocolate and powdered sugar. Decadent. The Cheesecake was thick with a great crust...just like home made! No fruit toppings. Cherry would have taken it over the top!
Great beer. Really snazzy atmosphere.
I'll be back.
Came here for the first time, for lunch. The layout is nice and decor of the restaurant is really tastefully done. Â Wooden beams in the ceiling, low-ish lighting, but not so dark you can't see what you're putting in your mouth. Â The stamped textured wallpaper appealed to me as well. Â Nice heavy tables and chairs. Â Large framed b&w pictures of the Irish countryside, old ruin's of churches, castles, etc.
Decided on a sandwich. I had the Tralee Rose which consists of turkey, spinach, thin slices of tart green apple and brie. Â It was satisfying and tasted really good. Â It was served with a cranberry relish which was savory and sweet at the same time. Â I think there was a bit of creamy horseradish mixed in. Â All the flavor combinations really hit it for me. Â This was all served on a rustic bun. All the sandwiches come with the option of soup, salad or chips. Â I went with the Guinness Gouda soup which was very good!! Â All of the other food at the tables around us looked well prepared and most importantly, DELICIOUS!! My son offered me a sample of his mc & cheese (not Mac & cheese) which was good, not fabulous but good. Â He LOVED it, which is what is important.
I would have given this place another star but the service was extremely slow. It took close to 30 minutes for our food to be served from the time we ordered. Sandwiches  and mc & cheese should not take that long. It also took a while to get our drinks initially.  Our waitress was very personable and sweet and we were not in a hurry so it wasn't huge.
Will definitely return, especially for the pizza which looked great!!!!!!!
Took a drive up to McGintys from Colorado Springs on a recent cold and icy evening. This place has a certain "homeyness" to it, and the place was full around 8pm on a Saturday night (my guess from lots of day-trippers on their way home from Cripple Creek.)
Pizzas are a specialty here with some Irish specialties thrown in. Â I started with a beer-cheese soup that was very good, but it was served at room temperature (our waitress never check back in with us, so i finished it, as opposed to waiting for her to come by so i could send it back to get heated up a bit.) Â Their corned beef sandwiches were just "ok" (nothing even close to the wonderful corned beef served at Jack Quinn's in downtown Springs.)
Overall, a pleasant enough place with ok food -- not worth a drive all the way up to Divide, but ok if passing through.
Luv this place! Â The food is truly fantastic! Â The wood fired pizza is so delicious. Â Build your own pizza or choose from one of the chef's tasty concoctions. Â Daily specials are always great too. Â We have been twice and the first time we tried the Green Chili Meatloaf - sooo good. Â Have also had one of their signature Patty Cakes (pizza) served on a granite slab called the BERNADETTE DEVLAND...also amazing! Â Service has always been top notch. Â The owners completely remodeled from the last bar & grill that once inhabited the space - thank goodness. Â Nice atmosphere, a defined bar area if you just want to have a couple drinks away from the dining, and a soon to be finished outdoor patio!! Â Thankfully, I live only a short drive from here because I plan to enjoy it time and again.
Review Source:Too bad Yelp doesn't allow 6 or 10 stars. McGinty's Wood Oven Pub will make you believe a bit of Ireland exists right  in Divide, Colorado.  Enjoy a friendly smile, great food, and make new friends at one of Teller County's most beautiful new restaurants.  Having traveled to Ireland, the food at this place is 10 times better than the what you get in Ireland.  I recommend people drive the 45 minutes it take to go from Colorado Springs the back of  Pikes Peak ~ you will land at the front door of McGinty's.  Their dinner specialties along with wood oven baked Patty Cakes (Pizza Pies) guaranteed to offer something to please everyone's appetite.  Their Pizza Pies are THEE best I have ever, ever eaten.  I could go on and on.  Stop reading and start driving.  Get to McGinty's!  Blessings : ) KC
Review Source:I live less then two miles from this great new restaurant. I eat here or at least have a cold drink at least once a week. Â I've had just about everything on the menu. Â From the staff, to the atmosphere, to the food, it's all great. Â It's really the nicest restaurant in the Cripple Creek, Divide, Woodland Park area. Â They have traditional Irish selections as well as pizza which is cooked in a wood oven. Â The pizza's are big enough to feed a family of 4 and cost around $11. Â They have a cool kids menu option where you kid can roll out his/her pizza dough, then put on the toppings, then they take it back and cook it.
