Mellow Fellow of Truckee

Nice location, great to have this beer selection in downtown Truckee. Sunday afternoon: bartender seemed  distracted even though only about 6 customers were present. I was surprised to learn they'd opened in May because it looks unfinished, cardboard boxes piled up, stuff taped to walls, wall decor on the floor, messy behind the bar, dangling wires etc. C'mon, you've been open almost 2 months! Could be really nice. Great selection of beers. The cherry cider I had was excellent, not too sweet. Giving samples is a nice touch. Tidying up the place and training the staff in excellent customer service would make this the best place for a beer in Truckee. Will return for the good beer and hope the place has grown up a little.

This place ROCKS!!   Amazing variety of brews & some great ciders for wine loving girls.  Gotta get here when Eric is bar tending  - he is funny, knowledgeable of beer & just a great damn human being!!   Oohh yeah - be sure to order some cheese & meat - yummy!!!  You won't be disappointed if you visit ....

Came here on 5/31/13 right after they opened. They were still in the process of getting everything together. The place has a lot to work with. They could and hopefully will have an outside front patio area. It's open and pretty big.The bar is really cool with re-purposed doors with glass over them -- I loved it! I'm sure the decorating will get better over time...

As for the craft beer selection, I was VERY impressed. I've been to lots of craft beer bars that act like they have a great selection, but then fall short -- not Mellow Fellow's! Their selection is excellent! Only problem was, I wanted to try wayyyy too many. Their sausages were tasty, too, but the pretzel really looked awesome.

I'll definitely be stopping in again and again when I'm in Truckee.
