I was a terrible waitress, once. I was just not good at my job. I am very forgiving about bad service, and as long as the food was good and the prices were great, I'll put up with just about anything. Unfortunately, Memories had none of those thing to buffer the absolutely atrocious service we got there last night!

I didn't mind that it took 30 minutes to refill my coke despite having two waitresses, one of which wasn't busy and was rolling silverware for the majority of our night.  I don't mind that my friends had to get up to go the bar every time they wanted a beer. When we ordered food and it came out cold, none of us complained, we were there late and the kitchen was closing in an hour, so no need to make them stay overtime to reheat our dishes and clean up. Everything was fine, it was good company, and the remix of music from the early '00s was nostalgic. However, paired with bad food, asking 2 waitresses for silverware and getting none until we finally got up, no drink refills, and the waitress charging everything on my friend's tab, a costly mistake that will take a week to reverse (We're college students and we requested separate checks!) when the waitress came by and picked up all our plates while we were still eating, (the plates were all half full) stacking them on top of each other before we could tell her we weren't done, she looked at us and said, "oh, did you want a box?" Well I guess I would've before my burger was sitting in my friend's alfredo. I literally was still chewing, there was nothing about our body language that had said we were done, we had literally had our food for 10 minutes and still had hours before the bar closed. And it's not like the place was full, either, most of the booths were empty!

Never apologized, never attempted to fix her mistakes. We were completely ignored, and even though we were going to make Memories the bar of choice in Brighton on a recommendation from my fellow derby girls, we'll be going elsewhere next time!

Did I mention this was at nine o'clock at night, hours before the bar actually closed? It was a very confusing experience, really.

Terrific New York strip. Great staff. Very reasonable prices.

My expectations were low.  Quite low. But my experience was... fun.  Quite fun!

The walls of Memories is - literally - filled with memories.  Old concert posters and rock-n-roll memorabilia abound.  The atmosphere is an auspicious start.  Here's the rundown:

    Drinks?   Inexpensive and generously poured.
Clientele?  A nice mix of ages from mid-20s to mid-40s.
    Music? Dated, but consistently danceable
Food?  Good. Very good, in fact.
    Price? Reasonable.

Am I gonna start going here every weekend? Probably not.
    Would I visit again?  Definitely.

Ok, so here it is:  Memories is the coolest place to hang in the Brighton / Howell area.  What more to say?

    The deets:
tons of room to move around
    the food is downright delicious
the regulars are cool as hell (cause I'm one)
    the drinks are jumbo
    pool tables/darts/etc.
    the music is good
    the dancefloor is big
my wife likes it there too (always helps)
    banquet room in back

We hang there most Fridays with some of our friends and a group of regulars.  It's a great time, the place is quiet around dinner time but starts filling up around 9.  By 11, the place is jammed and the dancefloor is packed.  Randomly, you will either get primarily good looking girls on a given night, or it will be mostly just pigs.  Doesn't seem to be any real rhyme or reason to it, if you figure that one out, please let me know.

I recommend Memories to anyone in the area.  If you go, stop by and say hello.
