First thing I like about the place is the menu. So many people trying to start their own restaurant create a too large menu. The smaller menu works well because it allows them to focus on a few dishes. It does share space with a gas station but despite the atmosphere it is quality food. I've eaten in enough places to know when stuff is coming out of a can or a freezer bag and that's not the case here. The fajitas in the lava bowl are my favorite dish but you have to be patient because of the heat.
Review Source:When you've had great Mexican food cooked by your amigos Mexicanos you know good Mexican. When you've traveled across our border with Mexico you've had great Mexican food. This place doesn't have good Mexican food. A few years ago it was passable Mexican for this area, but recently the portions have been shrunk to minuscule levels. The salsas are watered down and lots of stuff tastes out of the can, like the beans for instance. Also, when the chef/owner is bragging about how great she is and you're eating her mediocre food it doesn't do much for the atmosphere, not that there was much seeing as how it's nestled next to a gas station. If you're in the area and you're desperate you could stop by, if you're from this area look up a Mexican recipe and try to cook for yourself. I've had gringos cook me better Mexican. I give it 2 stars because it did start out ok.
