I thought I'd drive to Lewisburg and go to Dari Twist but I saw this restaurant and decided that I should try it.

First, I got some odd looks when I walked into the dining room.  The waitress walked over after a moment and brought a menu and put it down as if it was a lot of trouble to wait on me, and then, asked if I wanted something to drink while deciding.  She then informed me that they had Pepsi products.  I asked for a Mountain Dew and then, started to look at the menu choices.

She returned quickly and asked if I needed more time, so I asked for an Italian Steak sandwich, which included chopped steak, banana peppers, and pizza sauce.  I also asked for fries and ended up with the natural cut fries.

She took the order to the kitchen and was friendly with the locals.  I guess I didn't rate friendliness.  After a few minutes, she returned with ketchup and mustard.  A few minutes later, she returned with my meal.  Both times, she was indifferent, as though she was serving a dog at a kennel.  She said the right words, but it was obvious she wasn't meaning them.

The sandwich was great and at $4.10, it wasn't expensive really.  The natural cut fries were soggy, as though they had thawed and were sitting there in water before they fried them.  Some were dark red, some dark brown, and others were light brown.  None of them tasted good, especially for $2.75.

When she left the bill, she never asked whether the food was good or not, and didn't question why about 98% of the original fries were still there.

She saw me preparing to go and went to pick up a coffee carafe immediately.  Maybe, it was coincidence, but she'd been standing, talking for minutes until I moved away from the booth.

The food was worthwhile but being treated like that stunk more than a skunk.  I probably should have returned to the booth and removed half the tip.

An American treasure in western Ohio.  The jumbo fresh breaded pork tenderloin sandwich is huge, wonderful and inexpensive (($4.95).  Fresh cut French fries and homemade fresh breaded onion rings are equally good,  The restaurant is clean and the staff if excellent.

So, get off the interstate and stop in for one of this country's top sandwiches.
