The Milepost Burger is awesome and I love that they use local cheese, good local meat, and buns from a bakery nearby. For the price of a standard burger at Applebes or Red Robin, you actually get something high-quality and fresh. The beer selection is the best I have found in the region.
Review Source:There are few *great* dining options between Wenatchee and Seattle, and boy does Milepost know it.
1) The prices are exorbitant. Expect to pay $14 for burger / fries for the same quality you could get at a decent diner. Pints start at $5, which is fine, but it would be nice if they had happy hour specials.
2) The service is mediocre. Our waitress was slow and absent-minded. Milepost has a great beer selection but we never received a beer menu and we were thirsty so we just picked a couple random beers.
3) The ambiance has a nice local flavor and pleasantly distracts from the brown, barren mountains around it.
So it turns out Milepost charges more than it should for a mediocre experience. Still, it's paradise compared to Leavenworth with all its faux-Bavarian bullcrap. Keep driving.
Our river rafting tour guide recommended this place and since we are a fan of breweries we thought we would try it out. Â They have a nice deck overlooking the river but it was so hot out we sat inside (which is open-air so there is no A/C). I tried the American Blonde and their Huckleberry lager and they were both good. Â I would recommend their gorgonzola burger, it was very good. Â My husband got the salmon fish and chips but he didn't care for the breading they used and it tasted burnt. Â Our fries looked and tasted burnt as well but maybe they just needed to change their oil in their fryers. Â It also took a long time to get our food. They were busy but people around us who were seated with us got their food way before us. Â I am not sure if we would go there again...maybe for just a beer and appetizer.
