I stopped by Mills County BBQ on a recent trip through the hill country of central Texas. Â It was just past noon when I pulled up to the unassuming structure and walked inside. Â Several working men, just finishing lunch, were having a good time. Â I checked out the menu and ordered a two meat combo: Â brisket and sausage with beans and potato salad. Â
This was outstanding bbq! Â The brisket was moist and had a rich smoky taste. Â Sauce was served on the side, but of course-in Texas bbq needs no sauce.
The sausage was good but not great. Â The beans were seasoned with chili powder and were an appropriate side for this manly meal.
Add some white bread and iced tea, this was a great beginning to a bbq tour.
