This restaurant has a great ambiance, and is actually clean and functional. The service is hit or miss. A coworker and I dined here a couple times due to it's proximity to the hotel and tried salads, mexican night and seafood. Overall the place is not worth the money. My fish was simply cooked from frozen, and was way overdone. The caesar salad was drowned in dressing, the lobster bisque was mainly cream - way too rich. Mexican night was disappointing with chicken tacos with tough, dried out under seasoned meat.
The place was dead and it still took a while to get service from an early 20's girl in a hooded sweatshirt. Pretty unprofessional for a place that is willing to charge you $20+ for some menu items. I couldn't tell if she was working there or not at first.
While traveling for work I found this resturant near the hotel I was staying at. Â I had decided on another restaurant, however it was going to close shortly after I would have arrived, so I thought I would check out this restaurant. Â
I was seated quickly and all the staff was very friendly. Â
I debated on trying the salmon vs. the steak (Ribeye my favorite) but went with my gut and tried the ribeye. Â My order came out reasonably quick, which was nice. Â I ordered my steak med-rare and it was cooked perfectly. Â The cut looked similar to what I might find at any chain restaurant that serves steak. Â Â It had some marbling but you could tell it was a low end cut of beef. Â I took my first bite and it was perfect, not too hot, not too cool. Â I noticed that their butter and spice they use had a less than desirable flavor. Â I had to add a fair amount of salt to it to enjoy it. Â My baked potato was very good, the vegetables were cooks just right, but also had the uniquire task like the steak. Â While this flavor may be very good for some, it was less than enjoyable to me. Â I tried the dessert too, a chocolate lava cake. Â The dessert was average. Â
I gave the restaurant a 2 stars mostly due to the service and atmosphere. Â I would probably try this again, but try salmon on the next go round and then after 2 visits I would make up my mind on visiting again or not.
I feel kind of bad for this place. We went straight to the bar and waited as the two frantic waitresses danced around waiting tables and carrying food. They were obviously understaffed, but really? Only two waitresses and no bartender at a place that's no more than a glorified pub? We ordered cheeseburgers that came cooked to our liking, but was underseasoned and forgettable. Pricing is good but I can't see any real reason to return. In my opinion there's a pizza hut down the road...try that instead. At least you'll know what your in store for...
Review Source:Was ok. It's an applebee's/chilli's style establishment. Can't speak to the rest of the menu but what we ordered was reasonably priced. Quality of food was good. Definitely not gourmet though. Service was alright but could have been better. Would give another 1/2 star but haven't figured out how to do that if its at all possible.
