Mountain Creamery

Oh how we loved thee!  We visited the Mountain Creamery for breakfast on Memorial Day weekend, while staying at the Woodstock Inn & Resort. We wanted fresh, we got fresh. We wanted friendly, small-town feel service, we got the nicest people in Vermont to service us. We wanted simple clean eating, we definitely got farm to table. Why not five stars then, although the friendliest people around, they move at a snail's pace.  Fine by us that the service was slow because we got in early, however when there is a wait, the space is small so it could get a little hairy. The four stars instead of the five is also due to the prices. I get it, it's a tourist town, but $10.05 for an omelet with toast and extra for home fries--yowzers.  It was well worth the money. We truly enjoyed our waitress and our breakfast. Will visit again.

This is based on breakfast service solely.  

Unfortunately, the lower ratings here are very accurate.   Whatever is happening in the kitchen, they simply do not move fast enough for breakfast.  This is not a complicated menu...basic pancakes, eggs, French toast.  And yet it takes forever.

The waitress there was very nice.  But we arrived at 10:30, and didn't leave until Noon.  1.5 HOURS for breakfast?!  With kids, this really cant happen, and frankly really messed up the timing of our day with regards to our other outdoor activities.

Plus it's cash only, which is a big pet peeve of mine.  No excuse not to take credit cards.  

Anyway...just ok food, nice waitress staff, but clearly an overwhelmed kitchen.  Next time, I'm going back to the Daily Grind which had limited breakfast choices beyond pastries, but was literally 10x's as fast.

Went there for breakfast. Good Food not great BUT really slow service. If there are no seats available you have to wait outside for a table (not the best during the winter!). Wouldn't recommend if you are hungry or in a hurry!
