Murphy's

I have been to this bar on a handful of occasions (Only to drink) and each time I have been thoroughly pleased.  The bar-staff is extremely friendly and pour generously.  Also they seem to constantly have drink specials and special events occurring to create a lively environment.  For that town where I can only imagine the lack of exciting things to partake in, Murphy's seems to try to keep people coming back

Murphy's sometimes follows along with Murphy's Law, if its that sort of night. Either everything is good, or everything is utter crap.

If it's a good night you will find; a nice mixed crowd of the 35-45 yrs melted with 21-25yrs demographic, generous bartenders with generous pours, fun music, maybe someone to buy you a few drinks, clean bathroom and the works.

An awful night comes with the following; lame crowd of all fugly drunks, weak drinks and snotty bartenders, horrible wasted teengagers who cannot keep their liquor down, and of course, the septic tank will be on the fritz again- making the ENTIRE bar/restaurant smell like wet dog and gym socks.

So it's 50/50 when coming here but not going to lie, I have had some awesome nights at Murphy's and go back once in a while. Worst comes to worst, the septic smell is unbearable and you have to skip over to Finns, or Southside nearby.

Stick with the beer here or ask for a mighty mixed drink

This place is ok. The food is unreliable. Sometimes I get meals I love and other times it's overcooked or has no flavor. It's not a great restaurant, but the bar food is decent. Great drink specials though and the bartenders know what they are doing. If the food were a little more consistent they'd get another star. Go here for good drinks, but look elsewhere for good food.
