This is my favorite small Chinese place around Dallas area. We found out this place in 2006 and go there at least once a month since. People who work there probably dont speak good English but they are incredibly friendly and eager to serve you the best! We know the register lady and some waitresses for many years and they know us and always say couple warms words when we come. We introduced the place to all our friends even from other countries and everyone loved the place and food. Food is typical Chinese buffet food so you always know what to expect but it is cooked very well any time we come there. We also talked to some visitors and they came from many Dallas areas as they like this buffet! There is only one issue that is very unpleasant - lots of children - around food isles touching food and screaming!, jumping on benches and dropping food on the floor, touching your knees with dirty hands when they walk - many times my white pants were ruined! And all this noise just doesnt help you to enjoy your food and conversation! Its great that families like to eat there but ..... You get it! Its not about staff! Thats why we try to go there later - less kids...
Review Source:New Eastern Buffet is located in a small town with not so many choices for good restaurants. When I first visited this place it was right at the beginning of lunch and everything was hot and plentiful. I was surprised the offered sushi and the option to pick raw food and have it cooked on the big circle grill (hibachi). The sushi however is pre made, and probably the night before. I say this because on the california rolls the avocado is really brown.
This place is really small! the only chinese they offer is on two buffet islands out of about five total buffet islands.
The staff are extremely friendly, and do their job well. The price is pretty fair, lunch is about $6.25 a person.
Overall its an ok place for being located in Seagoville.
So, tonight I ventured into this buffet, but only because I did not think we'd make it to Terrell to try a place there.
Sadly, EVERYTHING on my plate was inedible. I think it was likely due to everything being luke warm and not hot, and as I type this I am hoping I don't end up with food poisoning from the few bites that I did try. The other half, well his food was rank as well.
The waitress, who spoke very, very little English had the cashier come over and they politely took the buffet costs off the total bill. We paid for our drinks, left a tip and got out of there.
We will not be back.
