Nick's is phenomenal. There's a great atmosphere, menu is excellent, the food is divine, staff is very attentive, and the mojito is delicious! I went with 10 other people and there were Zero complaints. I highly recommend Nick's and look forward to going back.

Gaido's has given the old Casey's coffee shop a partial facelift.

This restaurant dates back to the late 1940's, as The Chart Room, the coffee shop to the Seaside Inn. In the 80's, they renamed it Casey's with a humongous menu and decor that looked pretty dated.

Today, the motel's pool has been updated with a waterfall and a hip but not too hip beach bar called Redfish and the adjacent restaurant has been rechristened Nick's for it's current owner, Nick Gaido.

If you never set foot inside, you're in for a pretty good meal. Outside there's a patio with wicker couches and easy chairs that would be great for cocktails and table seating with modern furniture. The patio has been redone to match the pool bar with nice stone work.

The menu is still fairly extensive, but it's no longer multiple pages. As you would expect, it's heavy on fried seafood, but there's a decent selection of grilled entrees and a token selection of sandwiches & burgers if you're not up for fish. I opted for fried shrimp and soft shelled crab, with good sized shrimp in a cornmeal batter and an excellent soft-shelled crab. It's served with waffle fries. My wife's grilled salmon was a good sized piece of fish, grilled in lemon butter. It came with a side of veggies. There's a good selection of cocktails and beers. Service was friendly and attentive.

If you'd never set foot inside, you'd think the whole place was all new. But when I went in to use the restroom, I noticed that the facelift stopped at the exterior. The interior still looks like it has seen better days and it smells a little musty inside. Hopefully after a good summer season they can give the inside some much needed attention.

So eat at Nick's. Just take a seat on the patio and watch the surf on the other side of the seawall. The food is really good. It's not cheap, but the patio makes it worth it. Inside, not so much.
