Oak Hill Inn

We went here in mid July for a business dinner.  When we arrived, the place was empty, so we went to the bar and had a drink.  There were 5 people in our party, and when we were seated, we still appeared to be the only people there. (This was a Tuesday night). The ambiance in the restaurant was very nice, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, the food did not match the service .

Once we ordered, half of us had the crab bisque.  Once it arrived, it was lukewarm, with a touch of cool in the middle.  We then ordered our meals, and I will only comment on my own meal.  I had the seafood platter, which had fish, scallops and shrimp.  The fish was so overdone that it was inedible.  The scallops were rubbery. The shrimp was the only saving item on the plate.  I have to admit, they were pretty good.  

Overall, the meal for me was so-so, and really reminded me of food prepared by a home cook.  I am not sure what the issue was that night, but I was definitely not satisfied, and we have opted to not go here again for our annual planning meeting dinner.  I read the other reviews and only wish I was lucky enough to eat when these folks did.

This is one of our favorite places to go. Food is fresh, unique, and never disappointing. My husband's favorite item is the Chicken Augusta and the creme brûlée. There's lots of seafood items on the menu if that's your thing and plenty of other items if it's not. Special menus for holidays.

Was staying at the Stone House B&B and we were told this place was known for it's seafood.  So we went and mu beau had the full crab cakes serving and I had the steak and cakes.  For an App we got a baked brie and it was amazing.  The salad was great as well as the crab cakes and the sides.  We were told this is not the place to go if you were in a rush and she was right.  The staff was very nice and there is a no-rush feel to the place that was the relaxing part of a meal.  Great place for a date and gatherings with friends or family.  There's a full bar and a wine list as well.  I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
