We were driving up I-5 for the better part of the day and desperately needed a lunch break at 2:30pm. Â We didn't want to resort to fast food and thankfully found this place on the GPS. Â We walked in to the 'Grill' side, passed the lovely blue aquarium and saw that there was only one table of patrons. Â That got us a little worried but we were too hungry to find another place at that point. Â
Anyways, I ordered the chicken tenders with BBQ sauce with a salad side and my partner ordered the bacon cheeseburger with curly fries. Â Sounded like there was only one person manning the kitchen, but the food came out fairly quickly. Â Man, I didn't expect the food to be so good. Â The chicken tenders were perfectly crunchy on the outside and juicy, Â tender and flavorful on the inside. Â The BBQ sauce was what sealed the deal..amazing smoky flavor with a nice spicy kick! Â I tried to ask them what brand of BBQ sauce they use and the guy in the kitchen said they probably make their own because it's in an unnamed bucket...suspicious to say the least, but who cares, it's delicious! Â
My partner also didn't have any complaints about his burger (because it's got bacon!), and the fries were great as well. Â
Verdict is, found good food in the middle of nowhere.
We stayed across the street from the Oak Tree restaurant, and had breakfast before we continued our trip north. What a delight! One of the best breakfasts I've had in years. Eggs, bacon, hash browns, and a huge drop biscuit, all done to perfection. Great staff, simple surroundings, and reasonable prices.
Review Source:Nice place but it is alright not the best place I have experienced, I watched our food sit on the counter waiting for the waitress to pick it up and bring it to us. My boyfriend was urged to go and get it for us because, the only thought I had was every second I wait for the waitress to bring us our food it is getting cold. That matters
