The Oar House Bar & Grill

No going back anytime soon for food...but if you want to watch a game on tv and have a beer I think you might be happy.  Food tasted to me like it just got off the Sysco Truck.  Beer Patter F&C at the beach should be from scratch.  Everything was frozen and put in the fryer, bagged salads.  Too bad.  PC needs another family pub.

My husband and I try to steer clear of places that aren't locally owned (meaning owned by Californians that are trying to commercialize Pacific City.) Okay, honestly I'm not "allowed" to step foot in a place that is not locally owned or that we know is for sure owned by out-of-staters. ;)  We enjoy the parts of Pacific City that give us that small town feel that we love so much when we stay at our Cabin. The Oar House is one of the "newer" restaurants in town and we've been there twice, now. Both times we ordered the same thing. I ordered the fish and chips and my husband ordered a burger. The food is just average. If you are on a diet, they don't have fat free dressing even though a grocery store is literally 100 yards away (my mother-in-law has been there three times and asked for it with no luck.)
The staff is friendly, but not all that knowledgable about their menu items - at least not the staff we have encountered as of yet. It's a nice looking, comfortable place on the inside. I think I remember a pool table the first time we went, but we didn't sit in sight of it this time - and there is a music player to pay to hear songs.

I'm sure we'll be back again, but it's just a mediocre place. No real complaints.

Um, they charged us $9.50 for a dirty martini.  Sorry, I didn't realize this was a beachside resort in Maui.  Luckily I'm vegan so didn't eat anything (nothing available).  And I thought the Pelican was overpriced, sheesh!
