O'Brien's Restaurant

Looking for a dive bar...loud, local beer joint. Beware of occasional fighting and the like

The food and drink here is great divebar fare, but nothing more. No problem with that! But when I was there, August 19, 2012, the two drunks near me at the bar were really embarrassing. Fat, dumb and drunk is no way to go through life.....
Seriously, send them home if they have one.
The Italian sandwich I got was excellent, half for the next day, and as every place in this area, it was cheap!  
How do you tell these drunk rednecks to shut up, that's what I need to learn!
If these were in laws you'd know just what to do about your marriage!

O'Brien's or OB's as the locals call it. It's a fun dive bar/restaurant which usually always has some form of musical entertainment from Thursdays to Saturdays. With the exception of one band Wagners Agenda, which plays one or two songs then goes out for a half hour smoke break each time. It kind of ruins the mood if you're looking to dance.

Their bar food is fairly good. They have huge burgers and good fries.

The bartenders are at times friendly, the only exception is if the younger girl bartenders are working they will totally ignore you if it's a full bar unless you're of the male species. One night I was there with my husband and I waited at least 15 minutes to get a drink refill, when the men on both sides of me got served and I got totally ignored. Finally, the guy seated next to me, bought me a beer because, the bartenders totally ignored me! That's terrible bartending! The bartenders need to take care of the female customers as well, as I'm the one tipping, not my husband. They used to have a great bartender who always kept your drink full, he knew your regular drink and took great care of you, wish they'd get some more personable bartenders.

Overall, it's a fun place if you go when there's a good band or DJ, if you're lucky enough to get a decent bartender.
