Avoid this place like the plague. I order a $19.75 Buffalo Burger cooked medium rare. It arrived well done, dry and tasteless. I sent it back and waited 35 minutes for a replacement. If you can help it, don't eat here

I was served my $7+ tip beer in a cheap plastic cup!
Plastic is bad for enjoying beer!
Plastic is bad for the environment!!

Went here two days in a row.  The first day I ordered flatbread with a beer.  The flatbread was 10.50 and really just like a pizza, great flavor and high quality.  The beer selection is average and typical for a ski resort.  The second day I finished the day with a hot chocolate with whipped cream.  It tasted delicious but just a couple hours i felt like i had razor blades in my stomach.  The drink was the only thing I consumed different from my group all day.  I don't think they refrigerate the whip cream properly.

    SHOUT OUT TO LOGAN!
This is the second bar we stopped at while at Kirkwood. They had what we needed: Alcohol. And then we finally ordered a little snack, Margherita pizza. I only got a slice but it was pretty tasty and enough so I didn't pass out from all the drinking we had been doing!

No happy hour and food is on the expensive side. The wait staff was not very friendly to us either. I recommend Bub's pub or 7800' over this place

$6 Shock Top at a ski resort...not too bad! The food on the other hand...PRICY. You can get away with a $13 sandwich here, but the other entrees are between $15 and $20. Yikes! Head over to the grill or cafeteria for food if you're not in the mood to pay this extreme markup just for table service. Ski resort food is already expensive enough, no need to make it any higher.

This review is for the restaurant. First time I've had table service at lunch during a day of boarding. Outdoor seating-- check. Good view of the slopes-- check. Drinks-- check. Good food-- check and not your run of the mill mountain resort grub. For lunch we had an ahi tuna salad, a steak sandwich with couscous, and a BBQ chicken flatbread. All of which were amazing and decently priced. We also had a good server. We were here on a Friday so it wasn't so crowded. I'll definitely be back!

What a wonderful retreat for lunch on the mountain. Great selection of beers on tap and a good variety of food. Their soups are always a pleasure and are hot and fresh. This is always a great combo. Hot soup and cold snow. This past time I opted to try one of their frou-frou drinks they have on their menu. Oh, wow. I could hardly taste the frou for all the alcohol. It is nice to actually get what you pay for.

Now for my complaints. The service is always very slow. I'm wondering if their kitchen is just too small to handle the number of orders coming through or if they just don't have an efficient and orderly system. Either way, hurry up and wait. They would make much more money if they could increase the service speed and decrease wait times. Also, get rid of the cheesy wallpaper. Go for a nice plaster texture with a very light faux finish. It will look much more natural.

Best dining option at Kirkwood BY FAR.  There is a price to be paid however for decent food at this resort.  As most know, Kirkwood is a bit off of the beaten path, and does not feature much in the way of amenities like resorts such as Squaw, Northstar, etc.  The Off the Wall Bar is located at the base of several lifts, about 2 minutes from the bottom of the chairs.  It has a very pleasant atmosphere, high wooden ceilings, a fireplace, windows everywhere, and a generally 'lodge-ish' / mountainy atmosphere.
I've dined here more than 15 times over the years, and never a negative experience.

The menu for lunch is a bit more diverse than the menu for dinner, but both feature a number of nice items.  My most recent meal was the night before the Superbowl- my wife and I had a nice dinner while staying at Kirkwood resort.  I really enjoyed a great roasted chicken dish with risotto and my wife enjoyed the carbonara pasta with veggies.  We saw very large rib-eyes with huge bones sticking out being delivered to several tables-  they looked great!  As I mentioned, the price is not cheap- expect $15+ entrees at lunch and $25+ for dinner (into the high $30s+).  But the food is great, and I will return.

I'd say this place is mediocre.

We went when the snow season just started, so it was not overcrowded.  We had 20 people and were able to grab a table.

I can't say it's the best place to go in terms of bars, but decent if you are stranded on a mountain top with limited choices.

The server we had that day was actually pretty attentive and nice.

My friend was obsessed with the Rumple-something.  This drink will really hit you, it's got a punch to it.

But hey it's the company you keep right?

Weak. But as I discovered, they often have a monopoly...we wanted cocktails and table service, and since Bub's was closed and we didn't want to go very far in the raging blizzard outside, this was our only option.  Drinks were good and reasonably priced, but that was about the only positive.  The staff was morbid and indifferent, the food was tolerable but extremely slow, and the music was pretty bad. Are you even trying?

Bartender was quick and got our drinks right though they must have tight controls cause the mixed drinks were pretty weak.

Prices are to be expected for a ski resort bar.

Love being able to look out at the mountain next to a warm fireplace

The food was pretty expensive, bit I was willing to pay $14 for my which salad because his place had high chair for my baby.  The salad was okay.  But my waitress kaylee y. ignored me the whole tike while she attended to other tables.  I'm writing this review while i'm getting neglected.  The water guy asked me if I knew my waitress.  I flat out told him that she's not really coming around.  I had to leave my table to look for a spoon.  Ridiculous.  Is it because I didn't order beer?  Now i'm thinking how much tip to leave since the service was lacking at best.

Went there this past weekend for lunch to try and have a decent mid ski day meal.  The sun was shining, the company was great and we were looking forward to eating and getting back on the slopes.

The long and short of it is that the service was TERRIBLE!  We ordered our drinks, but the waiter never came back to take half of our table's meal order!  We ended up eating in shifts with half the table getting their food before the other half even had a chance to order.  Also, one of our orders came out incorrectly and had to be redone.  The only reason why I'm giving this 2 stars is because 4 people at our table ordered the buffalo burger and they loved it.  I on the other hand ordered the confetti ravioli and found the texture...odd.

All in all, don't waste your money here.  The prices do not match the level of service - best to go elsewhere.

    NO. No no no.

    1)  SHADY-- We ordered cheese fries and a drink and the guy who took our order kept changing up the prices!  First, our total for fries and a drink came out to be $13. That's totally wrong. $13 for potatoes and a non-alcoholic drink? No way.  We asked him what the total was for the Amp drink (it's a version of Mountain Dew), and first he said $3 and then changed it to $4. I knew something was wrong there. We asked him what the price was for the cheese fries and he insisted that it was $8.  That's outrageous.  We looked at the menu board (off to the side) and said, "Isn't it $5.50?" He shook his head and said, "Not a chance. It has cheese on it." And we said, "But the M E N U says '$5.50'"  "Oh, it does?  Well... $5.50 then!"  SO LAME.  If you're looking for a quick bite, take your business to the village (just a walk away) and get something to eat there.

    2)  NASTY OIL-- I used to work at the Rosebowl (Los Angeles) concession stand for two years, and I totally know how these grease stations work.  Oil usually isn't changed at concession stand for weeks on end.  In the meantime, insects, crude and old food drop into the oil and become repeatedly fried to a golden, skeletal crisp with all the other foods that we consume. It's G R O S S. The oil turns a dark brown color and forms a disgusting layer of junk and muck.  This, in turn, makes your fried foods taste crispy and more flavorful because unchanged, re-used oil has a lower smoke point, resulting in early darkening of foods and making them crispier. The product of our cheese fries was really crispy (and not from over-frying) fries that were darker in color than fries fried in fresh oil (yes, I do know the difference, as I was the master fryer at one point in my concession stand days).  That's gross.

    3)  SANITATION:  The bar/grill looks totally run down.  Sure, there's a kind of cabin-type feel to the bar (with its wooden floors and furniture and fireplace), but I took a look at its kitchen and it's really shabby. Dark, not much action going on, stained from oil and grease, and just really sad. It looked abandoned, run down and unsanitary.  I don't know how this kitchen fires anything up, but  I did see people eating cheese steaks and burgers, so I'm sure it has its ways.

This bar is not affiliated with Kirkwood (Kirkwood made it clear that there was no affiliation whatsoever), which is a relief because I'd probably deduct a star from Kirkwood for running such a business.

    11.26.10

Best resort dining experience.  They're trying to be high class on a mountain.  Definitely didn't feel like I was in a Tahoe resort.  More like Colorado!

Pulled brisket sandwich with homemade chips, $12.

    Yum yum.
