First let tell everyone who has complained about it being dirty: It Is A Biker Bar.
But their food rocks! Hell their bacon cheeseburger with fries is a gut bomb. I usually go for their chicken wings which are about 3 inches long per wing. So unlike Wing Stop when you order 10 wings it is more like 15 wings in the amount of meat you get.
The wait staff is super friendly but it is a bar so it is tough for them to cover as much area in a regular restaurant.
Now I am not big fan on when you have to cook your own food (weekends) since the grill gets super busy but you can call ahead and have it cooked for you. It is pure genius though to come up with this idea so it doesn't flood the kitchen as much on the weekends.
But when you see their cut of steak you will be surprised because for the price you are almost robbing them.
Either way check the place out and take some quarters so you can go and place some retro video games while there.
I've been here 100+ times. Â The food is really good (especially the Buffalo Burger, Fries, Home Chips, and Wings). Â The service is usually good and friendly (95% of time). Â You do have to cook your own burgers and steaks on the community grill (after 4pm), which can be a fun way to meet people. Â As others have noted dogs are welcome on the patio. Â Definitely a biker hangout on the weekends when it's nice outside; otherwise, the clientele is usually a pretty good cross-section of N. El Paso county. Â Yeah, it's not the cleanest place (indeed the tables are sometimes a little sticky and the restrooms appear to only get cleaned once/day), but typical for a small town dive bar. Â Lots of TVs which they change the channel upon request - but the local teams are always on one of the big screens.
Review Source:It's definitely a dive bar....so those of you looking for a five star dining experience, look elsewhere. I went on a Sunday and there were a lot of bikers enjoying an ice-cold Coors on the patio. It's a wonderful atmosphere on the patio with the majority of the tables under shade trees. Dogs are welcomed and given ice water in a bowl upon arrival! Our servers were very friendly and exactly what you would expect from a small town.
We ordered the nachos with green chile sauce and wings. The nachos were pretty good (not bad, not out of this world...just something good to snack on) but the wings were fantastic! It's something about the sauce that makes them unlike a good majority of wings out there.
The drinks are cheap ($3ish) and the ambiance is fantastic. I'm looking forward to going back with a few friends on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy a few beers.
Best Steakhouse in the USA ! By which I mean they serve the best beef ! Strip or ribeye always cooked perfectly, because you cook it yourself! A 10 oz steak is an extreem value but only $1 more for every extra 2 oz., wow! (Order extra-for steak and eggs, next morning, right?)expertly butchered in the kitchen, off a side of beef , pasture raised, & local. The owner Jeff & friendly waitstaff will make you(and your DOG) feel at home, on their huge patio, so kick back and enjoy the view!
I also should add, they have a full bar, lots of drafts, ( pitchers& table top 120oz taps are fun for groups)a decent fresh salad bar,the Best hot wings, yummy hand cut french fries, and great beef or buffalo burgers. They are open late ,as a bar ,and will cut you a steak and keep the grill on into the wee hours. Not elegant, just good. This place has such rustic charm, maybe not for snobs. As for us & our dog,we've been dozens of times , and Never had Any trouble from the" bikers" or " locals".... Some people need to RELAX .
Everyone talks about how great the wings are - NOT! Â Went there when it was super busy but got a table. Â Waited 10-minutes for a server (who was visibly exhausted), and waited another 15-minutes for the drinks we ordered. Â After waiting 20-minutes for the food (marginal, at best), I was annoyed. Â And to top it off, the place was disgustingly filthy - the floors, the tables, everything. Maybe I will try it again on a slower day, but my experience that day was terrible.
Review Source:This is the definition of: "mom & pop", "hole in the wall", "dive". Â It is freaking awesome! Â I don't live far from here so maybe becoming a regular should be added to my bucketlist. Â
Over the past couple of months I've had some absolutely terrible wings. Â My visit to O'Malley's the other night was just the thing I needed to repress those memories. Â The wings here are far and away the best - ever. Â I don't think I'll ever eat wings somewhere else again. Â
Our server was super friendly, fun to joke with, and quick. Â We never had to wait for refills. Â
As others have said - O'Malley's should have some other seasonings for their grill area. Â Even Montreal Steak Seasoning would be a welcomed addition. Â
O'Malley's! Â Do it!
I love this place, and will drive almost an hour to go there. The wings are the best i've had and cooking your own steak, who else does that? This place is awesome.
The only issue I've ever had here is it's always packed tight, tables are really close to each other and going to the bathroom is a trip in itself trying to wade through other patrons.
Cool place to stop for a bite, however, note, if you arrive after 4:00 on Sunday's you have to cook your own food; I don't know about the rest of the week? Â Took us by surprise when we were served raw meat and pointed toward the grill, which I might add, was pretty busy. Â Everything on the menu appears to be of very generous size (i.e., steaks, burgers, basket of fries, etc.).
There is no shortage of televisions in this bustling little pub and the outside patio is very inviting once you get your food prepared.
I absolutely love this place. It is my favorite! Great food, great service, great people that work there, and the booze is cheap. What more could you ask for? You really have to get the wings. They are so god. It is also fun to cook your own burger or steak. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT. It is worth the drive.
Review Source:Went there over this past weekend for the first time. A small group of us were out on our bikes and decided to stop there for a refreshment and some food. First let me say that the atmosphere is sweet, and plenty of seating room outside. The service was spot on and we didn't wait long for food or drinks. Second, Ive been looking for a place that serves some damn right awesome wing but this is one of the first times I can honestly say I was surprised by how good they are. I hate nothing more than "rubbery" wings and most places that claim to have bomb wings fall short in that area. Well O'mally's does it right and the wings come out crispy and with a great tasting sauce.
I am looking forward to the next time I can get up there so I can try the steak. What's better than having an ice cold beer, sitting in the sun, and enjoying some amazing food with friends and the O'l lady.
I've been here twice now......the sandwiches are the real deal, very good. Â I'm very picky about chicken wings so I was really surprise when they served up some mean wings. Â Very awesome. Â
The staff is awesome which unfortunately is something that seems to be very hard to find these days. Â Both times we were there, didn't matter who talked up to our table, everyone was super friendly.
Though my wife and I live in Colorado Springs, when we want a great burger, we go to O'Malley's Pub in Palmer Lake. Â Today, we both had bacon cheeseburgers, and they were thick, juicy, and grilled to perfection. Â A classic "biker's bar", the parking in front and across the street is lined with motorcycles at lunchtime on weekends. Â However, most of the bikers have grey hair and expensive bikes, so no threats & no fears. Â The only danger is if you come in the evening - then you are required to grill your own steaks and burgers. Â At lunchtime, though, their great cooks do all the grillwork for you. Â A beautiful spot at the base of the front-range, too, eat out on the deck and enjoy the views!
Review Source:I should write a 1 star review to keep people away. This place is legendary. Always great accomadating service for groups and always a fun time.
Pros: Cook your own steak! Great cuts of Ribeye & NY Strips. Great Great Great Wings. Washington Apple shots like no other. Nothing like standing around the grill drinking a beer and BSing.
Cons: They took out my favorite barbers chair years ago. That thing was Pimp. I cant get the high score on the Galaga machine. The Beer aint free.
O'Malleys isn't a place you stop and eat. Its an experience!
Now that I'm a "Yelper," I HAVE to write about my fav hole-in-the-wall....a mucky, crooked little house where the staff says "go cook your own damn burger and like it!"...and I really do!
Seriously, this was my old college hang when we wanted a low key night away. Like a house BBQ, you go to O'Malleys to have somebody cook up your apps n wings while you tend your tasty burger at the indoor grille.
I always get the saucy hot wings (read: need napkinsss), juicy burger and plenty of runny ranch sauce!
And of course, a couple of grateful deads (long island tea substituted cranberry juice) go nicely.
NOT for dieters, fru-fru diners, or clean freaks, but this place reminds me of my Nebraska grandparents old farm and hits a nostalgic home run in my book!
Hey at least they finally threw a grate over the gaping hole in the 2d floor dining area which looked down to the bar to keep the drunk peeps from fallin :)
What a great place!! Food was really good especially the wings. Staff was very freindly and even the owner came over to see if we were having a good time.
Prices are very reasonable - $3.00 for a Fat Tire pint. $12.99 for a great tasting 16oz.Steak. You do have to cook it yourself but it's done on a public grill and it was a lot of fun interacting with lots of other people.
It is located in a small town and just has a good "Colorado" feel to it!
Fascinating little place. I heard about O'Malley's years ago, but because it's in Palmer Lake, I never felt like driving all the way up there to check it out. I wish I had sooner--it's pretty cool. This place looks ilke a house, which is interesting. Feels like a real mom and pop shop, which I think is par for the course in Palmer Lake.
Their beer selection is decent and they have a few different appetizers that are good. You can choose what kind of cut of steak you want, and they bring it out raw on a plate and you go grill it yourself. That was fun. Very limited on the spices and sauces though (I saw salt and pepper, garlic, worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and that's it--kind of random). Overall, made for a fun evening and it's certainly unique.
I read about this place on Yelp and had to give it a try! I arrived with my two little girls who were impressed by the old school video games. This pub/grill is situated in a historic, two story house, situated on Palmer Lake. The huge patio seemed warm and inviting. I ordered a 16 oz Rib Eye for $13.99 and a 1/2 lb burger for $4.99. I split the burger in half and my girls were psyched to season and cook their patties on the grill. My steak was tender and delicious...I'll definitely be back with some friends.
Review Source:It's not that the food was awesome or the drinks delicious, it's that the deck outside is great when weather permits and the waitresses with their well-lined faces and crotchety dispositions are really pretty awesome.
It's hard to mess up a bottle of beer; I guess it's less hard to mess up a cosmopolitan, which yes, I ordered at this gritty biker-type bar. Â I will order a cosmopolitan anywhere; sorry haters. Â Having said that, I usually take it with a grain of salt if my drink isn't like the one I had the night before at The Four Seasons (oh wait until I get to THAT place). Â Because this place is NOT The Four Seasons. Â It's a biker bar by a lake with a lot of happy people partying on the deck.
We had jalapeno poppers and split a burger. Â It was good. Â The sun was bright. Â The drinks were cold. Â It was worth the drive, I think, and I'll definitely go back when the weather is good again. Â
So basically what I'm saying is that with this place, it's not about the specifics but about the general experience. Â And I like the general experience.
I've never gone to a restaurant and cooked my own meal before, but this is the place to do it. Â Only one person to blame if it's bad. Â With that said, this is a fantastic place to go, have a beer (or 2, 3...) hang at the grill with the fellas, and have a great time. Â Wing's are superb. Â Next time I'm back in town, I will definitely hit this place up.
Review Source:food is average, nothing special at all. Â service is slow. Â i guess it's fun if you like to cook your own steak/burger, but i like to have my food cooked for me when i go out. Â and the tables and floors were really sticky. Â but if your a biker, it seems to be "the place to go". Â on sunny weekends this place is PACKED with bikers.
Review Source:Stopped here yesterday on a harley run. This is a wonderful place located in a quant little town. I ordered the buffalo burger with fries, and my hubby ordered the wings. He liked the wings. My burger was ok (I didn't really dig the bun), but the fries were awesome hand cut fries!
Love the atmosphere of this place. It was swarming with bikers. We will be back!
This is one of my favorite bars and if you haven't been here, you're missing out!!
They have by far some of the best hot wings I've EVER had. Â The basket of fries or cheese fries are huge and only cost couple of bucks. Â O'Malleys also has a grill inside the bar, where you can cook your own steaks and burgers. Â Just order and they bring you the raw meat where you can season and cook it while drinking a beer. Â Oh and the best part? Â The kitchen is open 24/7.
This year they added bunch of big TVs so you can watch games while you eat or drink as well. Â The atmosphere is very friendly and casual, it's the kind of place where I can drop in with a t-shirt and feel at home.
If you're in the mood to get drunk, drop by Fri or Sat night. Â Saturday nights are karaoke nights. Â They don't offer a lot on tap, but do carry many different bottled selections. Â I usually get a few pitchers of sunshine wheat with 20 wings and some fries. Â If you like light beer (not for me) it's only $6 for a pitcher of coors light. Â They also have "21 at the O" which is 21 different mixed shots for $50. Â You also get a t-shirt with it where you can cross off drinks as you go. Â It doesn't have to be your 21st birthday, it's just a fun way of getting drunk. Â However, if you do go there Sat night, be prepared for a large cadet crowd.
The staff is very friendly and the owner is always there as well. Â I've been to this place so many times in the last 4 years that I know most of the staff my face/name. Â If you like neighborhood bars and are not in the mood for upscale downtown, try it, you will love it.
