If your'e looking for a no frills Irish Pub in the heart of Montauk, O'Murphy's is your spot.  Not sure there are any other Irish Pubs around, but whatever.

The food was good, the service was friendly, prompt and attentive, and there wasn't a wait for our party of 6 on a Saturday afternoon.  All of those points counted add up to an A-OK experience and meal.

I'd recommend the O'Murphy's Burger and Onion Rings.  It's what I had; I liked it; and I'd eat it again!  Wash it down with a pint of Guinness and it's back to the beach.

Look, I understand that if you're in Montauk, and you're in the mood for seafood, perhaps you should try one of the myriad of seafood restaurants...Gosmans, etc. However, if you want that awesome Irish pub style comfort food such as fish & chips, a solid burger, chicken wraps or chicken wings, this is the place.

My group of folks staying at the Manor wanted to get take out from O'Murphys. I looked at their menu online, got everyone's order, made the call and placed the order for all the food mentioned above, including CORN CHOWDER. I got to O'Murphy's early, and for placing such a large order, the Irish gentleman tending the bar offering me a free Guiness while I waited for my order to be finished and packed up.

Folks, the food was exactly what you expect from an irish pub. The fish and chips were excellent according to my in-laws, the children inhaled their burgers, when i went to grab some wings, they were gone. I managed to eat a bite or two of the calamari, which was delicious. My meal was a chicken wrap, which was enough for two people. The fries were awesome.

It was exactly what my group was in the mood for and it hit the spot.

Sick of bros that were rejected from the Hamptons and ended up in Montauk?  Then O'Murphy's is the place for you.

We decided to pop in here after dinner on our last night in Montauk.  Around 10PM it was nice and quiet and not crowded at all.  They have a small beer selection but it has a very welcoming feel to it and they have Irish bartenders.  Right before we left, they started to bring in DJ equipment so I'm unsure if there was a party about to happen or music was just going to be blasting.  Overall, this is a good place to pop into to grab a beer.

Bad service and crazy bill! Two local draft beers came up to $17 and the bar lady (who took long to see us and was mean throught) brought us a piece of paper with $17 written on it. No explanation or reply when we asked. Crappy experience in an otherwise cool town.

O'Murphy's has been part of the center of Montauk like Shagwong.  Its old Montauk and its still nice to stop in for a drink or pub food.

Cute pub, Dark wood inside, nice casual place to sit for a break when in Montauk.

Go for basics here.. someone got a nacho platter.. dont.. lol.. but My meatloaf with turnips and potatos was beyond great!  Sometimes ordinary is great.

Food is overpriced, not that good, and service is terrible. I ordered three meals to go, they messed up two of them and laughed at me when I called them to let them know. They offered NO reconciliation and were incredibly rude. I will NOT be back.

3.5 overall, Pretty standard Pub Restaurant, with good food and good service

For the appetizer we got Corn fritters, which was the best decision ever. It was literally a heaping portion of these sweet little morsels with a side of honey mustard. All were fried perfectly crisp and had a good creamy sweet inside.

The Burger was cooked to a good medium like I wanted with choose your own toppings, which in my case were chili, bacon and cheddar and a side of fries all of which were good as well.

Had a small selections of beer, but had your staples to suit most pallets.

If ever in the area again, would not mind coming back here at all

Good pub in town.  Open during the winter, which is nice since so much is closed down.  Huge portions, friendly staff.  Nothing extraordinary, but good food and service at a normal price is much appreciated; especially in Montauk these days.

A totally decent Irish pub that actually has Irish bartenders! Came here for lunch and got the fish and chips and a burger - both really tasty and better that your run of the mill bar food (though not healthy by any stretch of the imagination.) They pour perfect Guinnesses and Black and Tans here as well.

We frequent O'Murphy's almost every time we're in Montauk and are usually not disappointed. There was no wait and the place was not even halfway full yet the service was terrible and I don't remember it ever being expensive. It took about 20 minutes for my husband's Guiness to come . Other tables seated after us got their drinks AND appetizers before the 1 beer came. Then the waitress never came back during the meal to see if we needed anything which we did. Two adults and two small children $85!! For pub food? Ridiculous. We had burgers, 1 beer, a cup & a bowl of soup and 2 kids meals. Needless to say if I'm going to spend that much money I'd rather eat somewhere on the water with a fresher, different menu. O'murphy's was the go to place to escape the hoighty toighty restaurants that were overpriced in mtk and now they've joined them. The food is decent but definitely not worth the price.

I had not been to O'Murphy's in a few years after several disappointing meals. I quickly remembered why, the place was empty early evening and service was still slow. the apps were cooked well but the main course was not worth the cost which was very high since there were only 4 of us, 2 under the drinking age so it wasnt the bar bill. Years ago this was one of the places to go in Montauk, now its a place to stay away from.

Going with 4 stars here. We arrived in Montyauk late one weekday evenign and there was not much in the way of dinner to be found... we wandered into O'Murphy's... knowing how the Irish are known for their lobster bisque and fried calamari, thats what we ordered. WOW. I;ll say it again... WOW. Loved it. Calamari was light & sweet and delicious.  The marinara it was served with needed a kick but red pepper flakes fixed that right up.  We also had a burger with sauteed onions, mushrooms and cheddar. Holy Moley... I'm for-sure coming back.

Whenever we vacation in Montauk our Monday dinner is at O'Murphy's Pub. Always great fish and a warm welcoming atmosphere. The two for 33.95 is great and the Guinness foamy.  It's casual but true to the pub style. The swordfish is super! Don't miss it.

Local towny bar, no question.  But the bartender, Patty, makes you feel like your one of them.

As tourists, places like this can either be a tourist trap or an unwelcoming nightmare.  But it is exactly what you think it is.  An Irish pub.  And you get what you come for.  Drinks, and greasy bar food.  My only complaint was the beer selection.  Their choice was the ubiquitous mainstays you see everywhere + Brooklyn Summer... That's it.

They have signs all over the bar promoting Karaoke night, Saturdays at 10.  We decided to stick around to see what it was all about.  Karaoke is karaoke.  It is drunk fun and nothing more.

It was 9:55 and the place was particularly dead, then in walked Harry (the local Karaoke celebrity apparently), he set up the equipment, sang the first song, and the place packed out and was cranking.  Not even kidding, it wound up being a blast.  Who would've known?

The restaurant scene is changing a bit in Montauk, maybe trying to get a lil more high end, but this place is as basic as it gets.  And sometimes that works just fine.

The owner was extremely rude. Friends and I stepped outside and they were smoking a black and mild and she wouldn't let us back in. I wonder why. She thought we were high. Meanwhile we were right in front of the bar and there were officers 15ft away due to the parade. She was so rude and nasty about it. I will never go back.

Excellent... Mussels, Chix Parm, Shrimp Scampi, Salad, and Soup were all excellent. Staff was very friendly. Wonderful place to go in Montauk. A little pricey, and they made us hide our half-full bottle of water because as the signs clearly say "NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS". Overall a great meal

This place has hands down the best non-seafood dinner in montauk. And the only reason I can't give it the full 5 stars is that the service is absolutely atrocious. It was the first time I stiffed a waitress in my life. Just so bad. But if you go I  reccomend the burgers, chili, or shepards pie. I went again recently and found the trick is to sit at the bar, the bartender was very helpful.

The staff is nice. You can wait at the bar for a table. It can be a little cramped, but it's a relaxed atmosphere.

There is no pretention here. Old school professional waitresses and bartenders.

    Good place for kids.

As for the food: I got a turkery burger. My husband a veggie burger. Our fries were soggy and bland. My actuall burger was good but the bottom of my bun was soggy. A burger w/ fries and 3 toppings is around $11. My husband said he liked his veggie burger but it wasn't anything special (most veggie burgers aren't).

I think if you are a meat and potatos kinda person this place is for you. Every person I saw order meat, their food looked good. Potroast, steak, a real burger. I saw 2 women order salads w/ fresh rare tuna on top. It didn't look good to me.

A few people ordered the mussels and they smelled good.

We got the most amazing baileys ice cream cake there. They make it themselves.

The waitress was nice but when it's busy don't expect too much attention.

The menu has something for everyone.
    The atmosphere is relaxed.
    And kareoke on Saturday nights.

    Pretty disappointed by this place.

We went on a Sunday afternoon for a few drinks and a snack before dinner. First waitress seated us and took our drink order, and may have been the most sour-faced waitress I've ever had. Both my boyfriend and I attempted to crack a joke while she was looking over our ID's to lighten the mood, but to no avail. Lame. Felt totally unwelcome and as though we had really ruined her day by walking through the door.

Then, boyfriend's Guinness arrived at the table - improperly and hastily poured with fully 1/3 of the glass filled with a foamy head instead of beer. ...wait, isn't this an Irish pub?

    Right.

The food was not terrible, although overpriced for sure. The service, however, was pretty shameful - the second waitress was pleasant, but the sourpuss bad attitude from the first one really blew my impression of this place.

In summary: no music, badly poured Guinness, crabby waitstaff, mediocre food - NOT at all what I would have expected of an Irish pub that is so clearly proud of itself for being an Irish pub.

There are so many other restaurants nearby that I just won't bother with O'Murphy's when I'm in Montauk.

We have been coming here for many years, every summer when we  come into town on vacation.  One of our favorite things to do is sit at the bar, grab a pint of Guinness and chat.  We've met so many interesting people over the years.  And, the 100 year old cash register always cracks us up!

We had actually not tried the food until a hurricane took out all the power for a few days a few years ago.  They were one of the few restaurants still serving and did all they could to keep the food rolling out of the kitchen.  The food was simple but well done.  I'd recommend this place for late night drinks when being "seen" at one of the trendy new places in the Hamptons is not your focus.

Rudest people on the planet. Food is mediocre.  Can't handle crowds.  Too many other better choices in MTK to waste your time or money here.

I came to this place in search of a relaxing  lunch with burgers on the menu. This place was great. It was a quite Sunday afternoon. My husband & I both had burgers & were pleasantly surprised about how good they were. The burgers seemed hand formed (if that makes sense) with hand cut fries. The server was pleasant & it was all around a great experience.

I can't speak of the other items but go for the burger.  Totally worth it!

A small but great little place to eat if you're visiting the area. We went in and the staff immediately greeted us. Everyone in there seemed to be locals as they were greeted by name as they were coming and going.

I ordered the flounder fish n' chips w/ new england clam chowder and my husband ordered the Turkey Reuben sandwich with a side salad. The fish n' chips were authentic fish n' chips. Not the mass-produced type that you find in a lot of chains. I thought the fish was fresh and very flavorful but what I didn't care for was the tarter sauce or the cocktail sauce. The tarter sauce had far too much mayo and could've used perhaps more capers or relish. The cocktail sauce also was too chunky for my liking. I added more ketchup to thin it out and it was better but still lacked flavor.

The Clam Chowder was fantastic. It was meaty and the taste was perfect. I finished the entire cup much faster than I should've. Delicious!!!

My husbands Turkey Reuben sandwich was absolutely delicious. They have it on the menu as an open faced sandwich but he asked for a closed. If we ever go back here, I'd order this sandwich without even looking at the menu. I asked for a bite to taste but ended up coming back for more. The reuben sandwich had sliced turkey, tangy coleslaw, swiss cheese and the wheat bread was toasted with butter which finished it perfectly.

This place is decent but I think it was a bit overpriced. $21 for fish n' chips was a bit too much but I guess I'm used to the massed produced fish n' chips.

This place was recommended by our hotel but I don't know why. Long wait, not very welcoming, and then it took 20 minutes for anyone to bring us a water or take our order.

First they didn't bring me my appetizer, just my friend's, even though we ordered the same thing (french onion soup). But it looked so awful, I didn't bother to ask for mine. Had a taste - we agreed it was just like Gravox. Shepherd's pie was ordinary, I cook a better one myself, and that's saying something.

Waitress suddenly turned friendly when we asked for the check. ie. tip time.

Both my parents are Irish and this place is an embarrassment to our family.

O'Murphy's is a fine bar and grill.  I've been there many times.  Food is always good, service is good.  The burgers are great!  My only semi-complaint is that they're a little high priced.  I usually don't mind too much because the food is good.

Nice place to chill, have a beer and talk with your fellow bar-neighbors. The bartender was nice and she made a tasy Long Island Iced Tea for this reviewer. Didn't try the food, but it's a great place to bring your friends or family for pre-dinner drinks.

Nice place, respectable menu but the execution is poor. If I'm back in the area, I'm checking out Shagwong instead.

O'Murphy's... I just think it's too much. I get it, you're Irish. "Murphy's" is fine. O'Malley's is good. But O'Murphy's is overkill. I'm just saying.

Excellent burgers and fries. I had mine with sauteed onions, bacon, and bleu cheese. They had Guinness on tap, which made me quite happy.

An excellent lunch spot in Montauk.

Got a Guinness, on draft, here for $6 yesterday (St. Patrick's Day).

Have paid much more, even in big cities, so the price was quite acceptable.

    Cheers!

This Irish pub and eatery is located just off the main drag, around the bend on the circular stretch of street called the Plaza. After a semi-long day hoofing around several state parks and beaches in the cold sun, we needed a quick lunch and warming up.

We both ordered burgers. C. got hers with avocado and swiss. And I got mine with cheddar and onions. I ended up taking off the onions in lieu of lettuce and tomato. The burgers were great -- grilled like you would in your backyard and extremely flavorful. The French fries were just OK -- they looked better than they were, with their skin still on and such.

And while I got a cup of coffee, C. ordered a ginger ale. The bartender accidentally pulled two, so I got the benefit of the bonus.

Montauk supposedly has a sizable Irish population, and O'Murphy's is billed as the traditional Irish spot. The bar was doing brisk business at 3 in the afternoon, and they have live music scheduled. For a late lunch on a Sunday, the place was doing good business.

Worth walking around the corner for!
