(visited April 2011) Â Consists of two rooms, one with counter seating for 12, tables for another 16+, back room seating for another dozenish. Â Nothing fancy - mostly regulars but friendly ppl. Â Server was very friendly, prompt, and courteous - pricing was as expected. Â Breakfast menu offers "run-of the mill" fare with a few twists. Â
Cost of my meal was about $8 + tip and consisted of american fries, 2x sausage patties, 2x wheat toast, 2x over-easy eggs, large o.j. - plus a small portion of homemade straw jam. Â Food tasted as expected, not spectacular, but solid - if you screw up breakfast then in my book, it's time to retire your spatula. Â Sausage had decent flavor, lightly toasted/lightly buttered bread, potatoes were crisp fresh cut potatoes, and the eggs were a perfect over-easy. Â
The place was busy during our visit, would say 75% of the seats were taken. Â It was about a 15 min wait from the time our order was placed to first forkful. Â My father, who can be tough to please, ordered the same meal, and he was quite content. Â Really nothing extra special about this place - but if you're after real people and real food then this place has it. Â Also I like to support the mom & pop grub spots every once and a while - unlike the corporate behemoths they provide a bit of character to the foodie landscape. Â
The place is a bit off the beaten path, but if you are in the neck of the wood (er, farmland) then try it.
