Food was fabulous.
The service was quick and great.
We ordered appetizers before our food, we barely touched our entrees.
The onion rings, fried mushrooms & fried picked were delicious.
We had smelt which was good, & steak & lobster & that was obv good too.
Def check this place out. Cool decor and very busy which is a good thing ;)
They serve booze and have a bar in the back.
Bathrooms were clean!
If you need a bite around these parts, this isn't a terrible choice. Â As a vegetarian there isn't much on the menu but that is the trend in rural MI. Â The fried pickles were salty but good. Â My husband LOVED the cheese cubes. Â I got a pretty gross caesar salad, so I'd say stay away from that. Â The service was attentive.
Review Source:A country restaurant that has good eats that are well prepared and served hot. Â Staff is helpful and friendly. Â Atmosphere is country. Â The food is tasty, simple and satisfying. Â Full service bar. Â Weekends, better call ahead. Â Ample parking and no change in hours in the winter.
Review Source:Good old hearty American food here at the Open Hearth. Â It's about a 10 minute drive from the Silver Lake State Park where we were camping and decided to stop in here for dinner. Â They have a nice selection of steak and chicken as well as a couple Mexican dishes. Â I wasn't particularly fond of the layout of the main room as it was just one big, open room with booths along a couple sides and tables in the middle. Â It felt like something was missing in that regard... but the food was tasty and our party of 6 people were all happy with our meals. Â Service was also good even though they were almost completely full of patrons. Â
If you're driving in from Silver Lake don't get fooled and turn onto Polk Road right before the actual restaurant entry point on 56th Avenue. Â We almost did that and saw someone else do the same thing the very next day. Â 56th Avenue is the only way into their parking lot.
