I had the Ruben and chips. It was pretty good, thick slices of meat and dressing on the side so I could keep it from being drenched or dry. The chips( potato chips not fries) were a nice touch and a good change of pace. The booze was ok but the cider was good and cold. I ate and drank too much and barfed when I got home. Not from the food, just from having my belly too full.
Review Source:tried this spot for dinner and kind of regretted it. Had the mile hile meatloaf which was actually pretty good, but not worth the price they had on it. The service was pretty pitiful though and that seemed to be affecting pretty much everyone there, and it was far from busy. i will not be returning and i would recommend trying another establishment while in Mackinaw.
Review Source:When you head up north, especially from a largely populated area, you have to get used to a more relaxed way of doing things. As far as it goes for a restaurant, it's slow. We went only once during menu hours (they close the kitchen down at like 11). Our server was attentive, but it did take 5-10 minutes to get a beer, and about 20 minutes for our appetizer to appear.
We typically go at night, when the kitchen is closed down, and for that matter, so is 90% of Mackinaw City.
O'Reilly's as a pub is great. The bartender, Dave, is just awesome. He's attentive, he makes some kick ass drinks, and if you don't watch it, you might wind up stumbling out. Music is good, the Karaoke night is decent.
Well worth a stop for a drink at night. Sit at the bar, and enjoy the people around you, and the staff.
A run of the mill pub/sports bar, service was pretty slow. Food wasn't anything special, typical pub fare. They did have a nice selection of beers and it is in a good location. I guess they are owned by the same people who own the Dixie Saloon next door which is also physically connected to the pub. This may have been the reason the service was so poor, as they may have been stretching their staff thin between both establishments.
