We stopped in on our way to Houston and had both a savory pie and a sweet pie each. All the savory pies are made to order while the sweet pies can be made in advance. This means you can pick up a dozen frozen sweet pies from the freezer at a big discount but flavor selection and quantities vary widely.
We had the pizza or pepperoni pie and the broccoli cheese pie. Both pies were fresh and hot out of the oil with a lovely browned crust. I thought I read online that the broccoli was supposed to have chicken in it, but I never noticed any while eating. The pizza had a nice quantity of pepperoni, tomato sauce and cheese.
Our sweet pies were the coconut and the apricot. They had run out of apricot, so that was made fresh while eating the meat pie. The apricot had a great tart flavor and gooey texture. The coconut was still fairly warm with a rich creamy custard filling. I definitely plan to visit the Dallas location, which is inside a Baker's Rib BBQ restaurant.
