Super nice people and delicious food with a great view. What more can you ask for?
We stopped here after hiking the trails for a few hours; we were hungry and this place didn't disappoint. The humble BBQ joint sits on top of the store, where you can get cash back on your purchases if you didn't bring any.
All in all, this is a simple, down home place. You're not going to be wowed by the decor, but that's okay. Grab a Cheerwine and some BBQ, and sit back on the porch and enjoy the view.
This is as good as it gets in terms of off the beaten path "remote" places to enjoy some of the best pulled pork you'll ever have. Michael, the proprietor, is a gem and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. And he knows a ton about the local area and the sites to see. This is no frills goodness but be prepared to be amazed. The $8 plate or the $20 family of four banquet is the way to go. Note that the portions are generous and well packaged. It's also in a cool antique shop if that's your thing. Also note that you need to get your drinks down below at the convenience store as they don't sell them upstairs where the BBQ is served.
It is a standard stop for me and my family when we come thru the area.
