It's been almost a year and a half since I wrote that first review, and Paddy's is still my most favorite place on the beach. Â Seriously, it's like home. Â Seamas, one of the owners, is there most weekend nights and will make you feel like you make the place rock. Â The bartenders (Debbie and Mary at night, Laura and Becky during the day) make you feel right at home. Â Out of all of the places on Pcola Beach, this bar is THE place where you will meet friendly people that will strike up a conversation and not be sphincters. Â From my vast experience, I can tell you this honestly...neither the Sandshaker (which I love) or the Paradise (which I also love) has as friendly clientele as Paddy's. Â If you can loiter here for more than 30 minutes and not have somebody at least attempt to strike up a conversation, you either look like the Unabomber or smell like eight day-old roadkill. Â
And there is other food available other than pizza (best on the beach!) and boiled peanuts...pickled eggs. Â Holy shit. Â I tried to eat one of these one night after 17 Irish car bombs and couldn't choke down the first bite. Â If you can eat one of these, I'd like to shake your hand...after you wash it after handling one of those nasty fowl ova. Â *gag*
Great bands, friendly folks, and now smoke-free after...8 pm, I think. Â There's Texas Hold'em poker, but I can't remember when, so if you like that, call and ask.
Fun bar! Â Super freindly staff, lots of beer and cider an tap, and they serve car bombs by the bucket (they have a frequent drinker punch card!). Â Live mucsic was fun and a very casual, hang out and drink kind of attitude. Â It can get pretty crowded and it's a small sapce, so be preared. Â There is smoking in the bar and it does get heavy...you'll smell like the bar when you leave! Â Still hard not to have a good time here.
Review Source:You probably shouldn't wear a tie to this place, but I did anyway. Â I still had a good time.
My friend and I stayed right across the street from this place on our Pensacola Beach trip. Â We were here both nights and had a pretty good time. Â You go to this place to drink beer, listen to live music and play darts. Â They did have karaoke one night and the participants were actually quite good. Â The bartender, who was very nice, offered us some free chicken dumplings on Monday night. Â They had lots of sage and garlic and were very, very good.
I don't get down here much but this place was fun and approachable. Â I'll definitely recommend it. Â
Oh, they can smoke here, that's a big minus for me but I'm sure other people would like it.
