This place is great. The food is so full of flavor, and the presentation whets your appetite.
Moving from a Caribbean culture to Simpsonville, SC, I haven't found a restaurant that offers food with an abundance of flavor that I'm accustomed to back home; until now. After all, my pregnant wife says she feels so happy and full as I'm writing this. I think I've found my new watering hole, and definitely would recommend it.

We love this small "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurant!  This location is very small but it feels more of an authentic ambience. There is a larger one a little further away, but we don't seem to enjoy it nearly as much.  The food is so good.  You couldn't ask for a better, enjoyable, and authentic environment.  The wait is long many times, but well worth it.  Very nice portions for small price!

We'll be there soon! Come and join us!

Great service, great food, good prices, big servings.  Like 7 different salsas, bean and cheese dip comes with ships and salsa.  Wow!  Worth the try.  A bit small and cramped but whatever.  Can't beat the tasty food!

Just a great experience.  I first found these guys in Asheville, NC. Self seve salsa bar includes an amazing pumpkin salsa.  They bring out a chile spiced bean dip as a free starter.  And everything I have tried on the menu is creative, yummy and worth the visit.  I would hily recommend this joint as an exceptionally creative Mexican Rest.

What a cozy and warm restaurant. The staff is excellent and the food to die for. The table side guacamole dip is out of this world! Personally I love the avocado burrito but my wife loves the fajita.

Have only been here once, but it was excellent.  We were checking out the labor day festival when it started pouring.  Upon looking around at where we could take refuge, we spotted this Papas and Beer.

Never heard of them, and we were kind of expecting the worst.  Surprisingly, the menu looked pretty tasty, and a couple of things stood out: they have tortas (the crappier tex-mex places in Atlanta don't make them), and they have a man vs food type challenge (19.99 burrito that's free if you finish it).

Basically, it's not a taqueria, but they do make some authentic dishes and interesting looking things (spinach enchiladas).  We got a kids meal and also split a California burrito with chicken (9.99).   They provide the standard chips, but instead of a red salsa, they give a liquidy bean+cheese mixture that was kind of addictive.

The burrito was actually huge, the beans in it were tasty, the chicken was well marinated and seasoned, and it had a good amount of cheese and sauce without being drowned in it.  It was a surprisingly great burrito.  The rice on the side was standard, fresh tasting.

9.99 is slightly pricey for a burrito, but it was much bigger than what you get at Moe's or Chipotle.  We only ate about 2/3 of it.

The restaurant is kind of small with a lot of tables, but I think that this is the standard taqueria/Mexican restaurant style.  Due to the rain and the festival, it was not that crowded when we were there.

Unfortunately, I realized 20-25 miles later that I'd left my wallet at Papa's, but the staff found it and held it safely for me (I drove back for it).  I appreciate their honesty and we'll definitely stop back in if we're in Simpsonville again.

This is the third location we have tried and our least favorite. The venue is very small with too many tables crammed together resulting in conflicts between customers who are sitting back to back.

On this visit the quesadilla and the burrito were very good. I had the 7 Mares soup (seven seas soup) and all of the seafood items were overdone to the point of having the texture of a pencil eraser. (OK, don't ask me how I know this.) I have had the 7 Mares soup at both of the other locations (Haywood Road and in Anderson) and they were much better.

This location is not on our list for a return visit.
