We just had a great lunch there. I had a buffalo burger and my husband had a jalapeño burger.  Both were very good.  The owners are very friendly and the history is fascinating.  Well worth the trip.

Yes this is a great piece of American History. Once a brothel and saloon it is the only remaining such bar from the era of Doc Holiday, Jesse James, gold miners and the rich and poor of the late 1880's in Leadville. Today it is managed by truly wonderful people who have had the bar since WWII. The bar itself is one of the only oriental bars in America more than 100 years old and the drinks and food are quite good. Tucked off the main street of Leadville make this a sure thing when passing through.

Made a stop the Pastime on October 12th.  The history of the place is amazing, along with the service with a smile from Jerri.  She was a hoot to listen to about the "past" of the Pastime Bar.   Our meals were fine, although a bit expensive.   The Pasttime is a place to really enjoy the history of Leadville.

RED was semi-GREAT! Buffalo burger was bland and COLD...wings were over saturated in sauce. The only sauce we got was before we got out the door.

Burgers are great! Service was friendly and warm.  Wish they took credit cards though.

Fun atmosphere and Roxy was a great waitress. She made our meal fun. The hamburgers were avg. and the fried pickles were really good.

Decidedly the best burger in town. Great jukebox and one of the only restaurants to have taken advantage of outdoor seating. Beers are in the cooler, not on tap. Bring cash because they don't take cards. Service is always friendly and any wait is worth it. The burgers, fries, o-rings and specials NEVER disappoint.

We were looking for someplace to have dinner in Leadville... saw the yelp reviews and decided to check it out. We sat out on the patio to see the sunset. It was a fantastic mountain sunset! Jerry who is one of the owners is a true character and so kind. She's been tending bar there for a very very long time. She said she "Doesn't drink but I party every night!"

Buffalo burger was great but the history of the place is even better.

Really Kind of fun. Historic bar that is a bit out of the way but good for a cold one and an ok burger. Actually met some real miners there who were doing some development work to open the big Climax mine. Jerry and her red hair was a hoot. Try it. Not your best meal, but a good lite one. Cash only.

    Worth looking for.

This is not a typical tourist stop in leadville, although i suspect that more of more of it's business comes from yelp reviews, so i will make this good, as these are the kind of places that deserve to stay in business. and besides, i freakin loved it. there's one server who calls out her welcome from behind the bar, where you just might find a few locals chatting over their highballs--even at noon.

there are a few tables and booths, or you can prop yourself awkwardly on a bar stool and eat at the long-high counter that runs the length of the main dining area.  no, it's not the most comfortable spot, but it gives a good view of the ancient awesome wooden bar.  and while the service is admittedly slow, take the time to toss a dollar bill into the ceiling and soak in the decades of photos, chotchky and strangely out of place decor here and there.  after all, you're on vacation: relax for god sakes.

for us: the food was a grand surprise.  the kids menu hot dog was big and meaty in a crusty flavorful bun.  the cheeseburger was easily large enough to share with my 8yr old daughter and the fresh-cut fries were a shocking bonus in what appears to be a cheesy old bar.

we were disappointed not to notice the specials before we ordered. hand written on a white board over the kitchen, we definitely would have gone for the fried chicken were we able to do it all over again.

it's a stone's throw from the Tabor Opera House and serves cold coors in a bottle.  what more do you want from a historic bar with more than 100 years of stories in them thar walls.

Lovely place with a mile of history, right down to the groovy 1940's era giant neon light/sign outside.

I was there for my birthday in June of 2008 and had such a great time.  The menu is smallish and is only pub food but generous and cooked just right.  We had the giant combo appetizer, and it was great.

It has cute booths along one wall, a patio, pool table, juke box.

The best part is the owner, an older lady (named Gerri?) with red hair who reminded me of Miss Kitty from Gunsmoke.  Pretty, informative and funny.

We drilled her about the history of the place and she was very knowledgeable.  Apparently, back in its day, it was a brothel.

And that kind of makes sense when you look at the layout of the town.  It's down the street, a side street away from what would have been the more respectable joints like the Tabor Opera House.

Don't miss this interesting joint, or the owners.  They may retire soon.  Hopefully, her daughter will keep the place the same and keep the great tradition!

Jalapeno bugers and real homemade french fries are fantastic.  Mostly a local hangout.  It is off the main road, but the food is worth the stop.   The lady that waited on us was nice, and everyone called her "Mom".    The lunch crowd usually isn't to busy either.   The night scene is a little weird, but you have to understand Leadville.

Pastime is a comfortable, casual bar that serves burgers and fries. I had a buffalo burger and fries; the portion was very generous. The menu is very limited, so don't be disappointed if you are looking for variety. There is a lot of history there which I like. Service was friendly although very slow; however, one of the employees was away and I think it slowed them down that week. Keep in mind they don't take credit cards - it is cash only. Look for the portraits above the bar of the husband and wife owners when they were younger - very charming. The rest of the bar has your typical pinball machine, pool table, and juke box. There is also a self-serve popcorn machine.

Hidden gem of Leadville. Worth seeking out. Great burgers, fresh cut fries and bottled beers. Good service with an abundance of history. Note: cash only.

OK how many places can you eat and drink in that can say they catered to Clientele to the likes of Doc Holiday, Tom Horn, Jesse James, Texas Jack and a long list of  who and whom else.  Established in 1878 It is the place that talks to you Pastime Saloon.

If you are in the area and do not drop into this little place of history you are missing part of the journey. Off the Main Street (Harrison) on 2nd  ave. So you have to look a little for it but not much of a hunt just go here.

I did had a great buffalo burger, homemade french fries (dried no grease) fresh setups and my Brother had the Burger.. We did not eat on the patio but checked it out. Should it be a day of sunshine bring the camera in cause the landscape in the background is breathtaking and perfect for sharing.

The place was clean a little rustic  and I appreciate that in that many of the old places anymore when you look up and around are dirty and dusty and it's part of the decor. Not here. She's doing good for 132.

Last the people... If you are lucky you'll find Jerry.  She  will share with you  a little or a lot you see she has been working the Pastime Saloon solid since 1976.

She gets in my book 5 Stars for service and personality and story telling.

So reward yourself and whomever you are with in pulling this little YELP nugget out.   It's just a day trip and or Leadville is on the map drop by reminisce eat and enjoy!

A very fun bar just off the main drag in Leadville. It is in one of the original mining boom days saloon buildings. Had a truly GREAT cheeseburger here! No draft beers, just bottles. Friendly bartenders. They have an interesting gimmick wherein dollar bills get stuck to the ceiling with thumb tacks.
