Stacey's (formerly Patty K's) is absolutely adorable. Â
It's a typical small town cafe with the regulars who use it as a place to eat, but also as a place to meet up with the neighbors. It's a true community center that happens to be a cafe.
A detour off the main road took me past Stacey's. Â I love small towns and exploring them. Â I wasn't disappointed. Â Although I was clearly an outsider, and the locals didn't need to see the out of state plates on my car through the large windows to figure it out, they still welcomed me.
When the waitress took my breakfast order, she asked if I wanted hashbrowns or american fries, as Stacey, the owner/cook, made them fresh. Â I couldn't turn that down. Â And then when I heard she also made the bread fresh -- well -- I thought for sure it was a ploy to keep me there for the day as I tried everything.
I was seated at a table near the door that also offered me a view into the kitchen. Â I could see Stacey cutting the whole loaves of fresh bread, and see her shredding the potatoes so the waitress wasn't kidding.
If you're in the neighborhood, take a detour and check out Stacey's. Â If the rest of the menu is as delicious and has the same home-made touches, you'll leave satisfied.
