Tried it for the first time after seeing the comments but was grossly disappointed. The pizza (cheese, pep, mushroom) tasted OK, but didn't quite match our expectations. The lady owner might have had a bad day but she was very rude - never smiled, disrespectful, slow in responding to questions to the point of entirely ignoring her customers. It doesn't look like that she cares about the customers or her business at all. Amazing that the business can survive in E. Lansing!
Review Source:Paul Revere's is off the beaten path and that is a good thing!!
Their New York Style pizza is great, try the supreme. Just get the large size, it's worth it. It takes a little while to get your food because they actually make your pizza instead of reheating it.
Try the spicy cheese things, they are amazing. Â This bar is great. Jim is awesome too.
Wow! What a pleasant surprise!
Wanted to try something new and looked to Yelp for a suggestion.
Believe the hype!
Ordered a 16" pep and cheese carry-out.
This is a legit New York-style pie.
It was a perfect pizza...cheese, crust, pep, sauce...all were delicious.
I can't believe it took me 2 years to try this pizza.
This pizza is a must!
OH my!!! Â This is perhaps one of the best Pizza's I have ever eaten! Â It's a really dark, local bar, but don't be deceived.... Â The Pizza is FANTASTIC!! Â
If I lived in the area, this would be a place I'd eat at once a week!
Thanks Yelp reviewers!!! Â You got me in the door, and Paul has done the rest!!
A dive in a college town with pretty great pizza and I'm from Chicago...
Went here after leaving a cold, wet and miserable MSU football game at half time on Saturday. Â
It is dark and dingy, but the service is great, the prices are right , the beer is plentiful and the pizza is pretty damn good. Â There weren't enough tv's for my liking since we were trying to watch the rest of the MSU game on tv, but it did the trick. Â Our servers were very attentive and nice. Â
We ordered the large pizza with sausage and pepperoni. Â The sausage was not the greatest, but the crust, sauce cheese and pepperoni were excellent. Â
Had a good time here which made up for the crappy game and we even convinced my mom that the owner is related to Paul Revere! Â Good times.
ZOMG! If you are from the Northeast (where the pizza is flat and crispy), RUN to Paul Revere's for a damn good pie.
Their recipe is from a joint in NYC, and they make the dough and the sauce fresh. Yesssss! Crust is crispy perfection. Sauce is smooth and delish (not a bitey, indigestion-fest). I like to swing by here on the way home from work to pick up a couple of pies for the family. Good stuff!
Got a recommendation here for their pizza, so we went and gave it a try for dinner tonight. It was OK- the crust and sauce were decent, but the cheese left a lot to be desired. I think I might have built my expectations up a little bit too much (it's the pizza snob in me just hoping to find something wonderful up here...).
They brought out Meijer Parmesan cheese and McCormick's crushed red pepper... felt like home :)
We had decent service- always had drinks, and our food didn't take too long to come out. However, we were one of three tables there at the time (it was 6pm on a Friday... seemed strange) so there wasn't much competition for attention of the staff.
Seems like a great place to get together with friends and enjoy some beers- if I go back, I will focus on doing this instead of getting pizza.
Excellent hamburger and fries. About a dozen MI brews on tap made it even better. No glitz, no glamor, no splash but a nice comfortable joint with some TVs and a relaxed staff. A good place to chill out and just far enough away from the MSU campus to avoid those over-zealous undergrads.
Review Source:I always enjoy a comfortable bar with a Cheers-style attitude. I find this to be such a place.
The place is not overcrowded, but still has plenty of patrons and the waitstaff I found to be quite pleasant. She didn't fare well with the table next to me though, as she wasn't at their beck and call. However, if you have a little patience and relax, then you'll enjoy yourself.
There were a few big screen TVs, a jukebox, and a few video games pushed off to the side. It's not a cool as Stober's, but I would definitely swing by again next time i'm in the area.
Fun local pub. Â I've been here 100 times over the past 6 or 7 years. Â Its like Cheers for EL and Okemos. Â I only come through a couple times a year now because of where I live but the owner Jim still remembers me, remembers what I do, what I eat, and what I drink. Â He's a great guy and owns a great little bar, I feel good giving him my money. Â The menu is a pretty standard bar menu but its way better quality than what you'd expect from a pub. Check it out. Â Just be careful with the huge mugs of beer, more than 2 or 3 and your in trouble for sure...
Review Source:Paul Reveres is a fun place to have a drink with friends and they have great Michigan brews on tap. I always have the Two Hearted Ale in a 34 ounce mug. This is the only place i know that serves beer in a glass this big. Great prices and a great owner. Tell Jim i said hi next time you go in!
Review Source:very small, intimate neighborhood bar.
drinks are fairly priced. only bud products on tap. some midwestern microbrews also on tap, but only seasonal. no miller/coors products.
very minimal selection of food - mostly sandwiches and burgers, some standard bar appetizers. that's it. Â
my club sandwich & fries took forever to be delivered to table.
don't expect much.
bartender was aloof. Â they only had one waitress working the entire place (including the patio) - it is just that small. Â sure doesn't look like it from the outside though. but yeah, very intimate.
they have goldentee and silverstrike, but don't dare play them when there is something on the only two bigscreens (on opposing corners) because you'll block their view.
it was not very busy for a friday night either.
overall i'd have to say a 3.
