I stopped in here twice the last week to use up a couple of expiring Groupons I had.  This place is all about the beer. They do have a TV on the wall above the bar but that is it. This isn't really the place to go to watch sporting events. It is however a good place to go to get fresh beer. Peace Tree does a pretty good job with their brews and you can find them all over the state, but to truly get the best you need to go to where they brew it. Just make sure you check their hours.  They are only open a few days a week.

Unfortunately due to Sprint Car Nationals the were very limited on what beers they had on tap.  The bartender told me that they usually have more and every so often they will brew specialty beers just for the tap room. I may have to venture back here in the future.

One last thing, they serve bar mix which is pretty good and they have a few little things to buy and munch on if available.  Otherwise they do not serve any food. However they have worked out deals with restaurants around town and they keep a binder of menus so you can order and these places will deliver.

Relaxed atmosphere. Looks and feels REAL- like some sampling rooms I've been to in Montana. No frills. No food menus to make up for anything. Just good beer in a nice, clean, laid back space.

Got a growler of one of their seasonal brews. Wasn't in town long enough to make it back again, too bad. Was a nice place, friendly service and great beer.

Service was very friendly. We ordered root beer and red river and the waiter even brought us some pub mix. As for the beer everything looked and tasted on par. To bad they don't have food

A friend invited me to a beer dinner here a few weeks back.  And it was incredible!  First of all, the tasting room is gorgeous.  It's a lot bigger than I anticipated, and easily seated about 50 hungry patrons.

We were greeted and handed beers immediately.  Servers presented tiny bites of finger food.   Beer AND food in my hand a minute after arriving---I can get used to this!   Next up was a brief tour.  I'm very excited for their experimental beers currently aging in the barrels.

Dinner consisted of a salad topped with lots of bacon, lamb stew, and a german chocolate cake.

Beer was paired with every course.  Service was swift and very friendly.  What a great event!  And for $50, all inclusive of drinks, food, and tip, it was a fun night out that didn't cost a fortune.

I'm definitely coming back for future events and also just to relax and drink some beer in their tasting room!

Pretty delicious. Peace Tree is a really neat place in a random lil town in Iowa. I really liked it!

Space - awesome! Exposed bricks and rafters. Quite hipster.

Waitstaff - Friendly, although sometimes I had to get their attention.

Beer - Good! Try the Blonde. It deceiving at 8%. Totally affordable too.

If you are ever in South Central Iowa, Peace Tree is a must.

The BEST (though small) selection of unusual and authentic beers I've found.  They offer samples for a buck, but you'll want more!

No food (except snack mix) but Fast Freddy's Pizza is right around the corner or byo food (they're fine with it).

Small and intimate.  Really nice place!

my family stumbled upon this brewery when we were driving through knoxville.  we went in to check it out, not sure if my little sister (under 21) would be allowed in.  we scoped the place out, which was fairly rowdy, and decided to head out.  as we were walking out one of the employees followed us and starting saying "no, no! you don't have to leave! come on in and have some beers."  apparently they are a kid friendly place.  long story short, my brother, dad and i stuck around while my sister and step-mom went off on other adventures.

we enjoyed all the beers immensely, with dad and bro favoring the red rambler.  i liked the hefeweisen.  the prices were insane.  $3.75 for most of the microbrews.

looked like they gave tours, although we didn't indulge. if you're in the middle of iowa, definitely worth a stop.

    Something's brewing in Knoxville...

With a focus on handcrafted beers, using only quality ingredients from across the globe, Peace Tree Brewing Co. is a must visit for beer lovers in central Iowa.

Enjoy a pint or beer flight in the elegant taproom - or grab a fresh growler to go! Rotating seasonal and specialty brews are enough to keep you coming back for more. There's even handmade Root Beer for the kids (or to indulge your sweet side).

Owned and operated by beer lovers, the detail and pride taken in every batch shows. Want to see for yourself? Someone friendly is always happy to give a tour.

Full production and bottling line started running in April 2010.  Red Rambler Ale, Hop Wrangler 3 IPA and Peace Tree Rye Porter are officially available in bottles.

Can't find Peace Tree in your favorite store or bar yet? Ask for it by name. Until then, buy a bottle, 6-pack or case of beer right from the taproom.

Located less than 45 minutes SE from Des Moines, Knoxville's own Peace Tree Brewing Co. is a great stop for a taste of locally-owned, locally-produced beer.
