Longest we've ever waited for food in our lives (75 minutes after ordering). Â And my order was wrong when it finally came. Â Restaurant was out of oyster stew and many other items. Â Spoke to owner after our meal and she didn't appear to care about our experience. Â It might be good as a bar, but don't bother going there for dinner. Â Would give it less than 1 star if I could.
Review Source:Got out of the house and stopped by here to get some eats while on a recent trip to OIB. This venue has been many different names and had many reincarnations, and we decided to try this new one. I'd say it ended up being more like 2.5 stars from this visit.
We were sat quickly, it was around 5pm (hostesses/greeters, hint: Smile! Be personable! Be positive!). Our server was very attentive, if not actually extremely overzealous with her service. I got a frozen lemonade type drink, and it was not very impressive but ok. Got the crab dip to start out with, again it was ok, but does not stand out. The chips appeared to be made there in the fryer, tortilla like, but clumped and also had a stale quality to them. We got a fresher plate of them that were better. My main entree was beer battered fish and chips (substituting homemade potato chips for the fries "chips" instead). The fish was good, of course it was not Calabash calibre or anything. Hey..it's a bar and grill, set your expectations accordingly! But the fish was the best part of the stop, it cured my hungry mood and had plenty of it, a good portion. The hush puppies were a bit over done. I suggest getting the homemade potato chips as they were pretty tasty, and I am glad I sub'd them for the fries.
Bottom line: It got the job done, but does not stand out particularly. Wavered between 2 and 3 stars but in reading what 2 stars stands for, I have to go with "Meh, I've experienced better." I can go with 2.5 stars for this one if had half stars.
One of the worst meals in my life. We waited forever for our waitress, to order drinks, and to put our food order in. Our waitress forgot to refill our drinks when we asked. While we were waiting forever for everything, we could see our waitress hanging out at the bar talking to the other staff. When we ordered, we were told that all of the whole crabs were unavailable. We ended up going with the crab legs. After waiting 30 minutes, we finally got our crab legs. Both the legs and the butter was luke warm. Â We had to ask for shell crackers for a party of 3. Â We were only given 2 and one was broken. Also, they were both rusty. Â Stay. Away.
