Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I had heard mixed reviews but wanted to try it out. It is a nicely decorated place, and waitstaff was nice, but the food was really subpar. I had a chicken and vegetable dish that was poorly spiced, and the chicken was as tough as shoe leather. Portions of the accompanying rice and beans were very small. Service was very slow, and there were few people there. There was a great singer there, whom we really appreciated. Live music in shore restaurants is hard to come by. All in all, a very average experience overall, but the food was less than average.
Review Source:We went after it was recommended by a friend. Â The place is nicely decorated and the food was good. Â Unfortunately, we ordered a Mojito off their "traditional Mexican" drink menu. Â We have had Mojitos before and know how they are supposed to be made. Â This was confirmed by their own drink menu picture and description of the cocktail complete with lime garnish and fresh mint leaves. Â The drink arrived and looked like a plain glass of water without fresh mint leaves or even the lime wedge garnish. Â We questioned the waitress about the lack of fresh mint as described and she said she would go back and ask. Â She came back a few minutes later and said "we are out of fresh mint and wont have anymore for a few days" Â No appearance by the manager or whoever made the subpar cocktail...never offered to make us something else...and the drink remained on the bill. Â That was enough for me not to go back.
Review Source:Recommended by a local business person. Tried their Sunday buffet. It was OK. I'll have to come back and try the regular menu. The buffet had vegetarian tamales. Never heard of those. Tacos, rice, beans, quesadillas, etc. The hamburger and chicken were seasoned very nicely. Was kind of disappointed that there was no guacamole, but they did have sour cream, lettuce, and very good salsa. At $7.99, I went away VERY FULL. Soda and tea are $1.99, which is about $.20 higher than everyone else in the area. If you happen to be off the beatin' path of Lankford Highway, go and enjoy a good meal.
