HORRIBLE!! In ONE hour I had SIX vodka tonics, my friend had FOUR, and my other friend had THREE Long Island ice teas.
NONE of us tasted alcohol in our drinks. And not one of us felt ANY buzz at all. I'm tempted to go back and take a drink to the Liquor Control and have it tested for alcohol content. $75 bucks  we spent- the last time Pete's will get a dime from us.
I've been going to Pete's for years, surviving many changes in the floor plan and the menu.
It's a unique place, especially if you get to sit in one of the cars. I don't have kids but I'd imagine they would love that sort of thing. The place is kind of segmented, with a bar area, a seating area with the cars, another larger seating area on the second floor, and a sort-of-basement area with some pool tables.
I used to come here all the time to play pool, but they don't have as many tables as they used to have. Most have disappeared since the remodel about ten years ago or so. Kind of shame but I don't think that was their greatest source of business.
Lots of television screens so you can catch just about every game that's on especially if you're downstairs. Upstairs there's a large projector screen that usually has the big game of the day on.
The parking lot is HORRIBLE and they should be ashamed of it. Since the remodel it's been a pain to park here. I'm sure there's a guideline they're meeting with a parking spaces to square footage ratio, but you run the risk of getting trapped in a spot or having your car dinged when you park here. For that reason, I rarely go when it's busy anymore and that's a shame because that's when Pete's is most fun.
Food here is usually pretty great... I like the Cadillac Club (HUGE club sandwich), the pizza sub, and the regular old Garage Burger with cheese. A lot of my friends enjoy their fajitas.
They're trying to promote more unique beers these days, but they do a poor job at it. There's a beer menu but it's not what they're actually serving. It's just a bunch of logos. Their "craft" beers are often big brewery products and I'm not sure the staff know any different, but it's not their fault.
Hadn't been here for years. Â Little has changed, including the menu. Â Very little vegetarian. Â Got the Southern Chicken Salad, and waitress helpfully suggested a half size; and it was plenty. Â Lots of chicken; missed romaine lettuce - only iceberg. Â Would have loved a hard boiled egg too. Â But still good.
Hubby got the swiss/mushroom burger w/ onion rings. Â said it was good and we would gladly return in the future. Â
Waitress attentive and checked back a number of times.
Still has the cars to eat in if one so desires...
Pete's is a Monroe staple. It has been around forever. The food is typical bar, but for bar food it's definitly the best in Monroe. The atmosphere is really fun. As to sit in one of the cars. I have had lots of things on their menu and never really been to disappointed. Taco night on Thursdays is fun and they have $1 margaritas that night. It a great place to eat in Monroe.
Review Source:My friends love this place and go often, but I'm not sure why. They have a couple cars you can eat in, but I've gotten to eat in one. The building isn't great, there isn't enough parking, service is pretty slow, it's ridiculously loud for no apparent reason, and the food is pretty bad quality. Definitely not my first choice for food.
Review Source:I love the ribs. The service is a hit or miss. If I had to pick I would avoid going upstais because the service isn't as quick when seated up there. There are old cars that give the place a great experience for kids and my teens. I'd give it 5 stars if I could say the service is great and all the food is great. The ribs, calzone, and fried ice cream are the 5 star foods.
Review Source:Don't ever get takeout. You'll get burnt, inedible cold food. Apparently no care or quality control on what leaves the kitchen. Some of the food on the menu is good, but you never know how long the ingredients have been in the kitchen. I guess they care most about being a bar, and they're probably good enough at that - but food and sports are better at bww, so there's not much need to go here.
