The first thing you notice when you walk in is the overwhelming smell of mildew.  The two waitresses on duty were friendly enough, but the one who actually served us was pretty much clueless.  She tried to take our food in the middle of our meal, she didn't tell us about the split/share fee until after she had served us,

My husband and I shared the Greek Pork chops.  The salad was decent, the portions were large, but other than the greek potatoes, the rest of the food was fairly tasteless.  The pork chops, which looked really good, were tough and tasteless.  Our son ordered the "baked" ravioli and it was soggy and overly cheesed.  The rolls, which also looked really good, were very dry and the desert was dry and soggy all at the same time.

The owner of the place came out and wandered around the restaurant and then sent the other waitress out to ask if it was our truck in the truck parking lot.  He never spoke to us, and we were the only people in the joint.

There is also a note on the BACK of the menu about a minimum of $1.75 charge for each person in a booth.

Not a very good experience, and we'll never go back.

Returning from southern Illinois via Rt. 47, my husband and I stopped at Pete's for lunch.  The food was absolutely awful.  I had ordered buttermilk pancakes, usually a safe choice.  The pancakes weren't very good, and I ate less than half.  My husband had ordered a "melt" of beef and cheese on a pita.  The beef was indelibly dry.  The cheese on top was so rubbery that he could bounce his flatware off it.  That was also left on the plate.  The worst thing we encountered, though, was the bathrooms.  The women's room had the overpowering smell of methane, to the point I could barely breathe.  My husband said the men's room was the same.  I wished I had gone in before we ordered, instead of cleaning my hands with a wet-wipe in the car.  Believe me, we'd never have stayed in the first place.

I travel for work and found this little gem when I saw the sign while getting fuel. I don't have the privelage of eating home cooked meals so this was a real treat. I had a salad with thousand island dressing that was made from scratch. I also had the chicken noodle soup with hand made noodles.  YUM! My husband had the walleye which was baked and seared. He got a greek potato as a side that was bursting with flavor! Plus the rolls came with optional freshly churned butter. How can you beat that? I am not a reviewer that eats at chains or fast food either because those are processed and disgusting!
