What an incredible jewel this restaurant is. Â How lucky to have a Farm to Table Restaurant right in our little town. Â Super friendly, fast service.
We're vegetarians and our waitress offered to make any of the dishes on the first page of the menu without the meat. Â Started with a Golden Beet & Goat Cheese Salad & the blend of flavors was fantastic. Â Next came the Cauliflower which was roasted with red onion, garlic cloves, oyster mushrooms & sage. It was probably the best cauliflower dish we've ever eaten. Â I would not let my husband lick the plate so he did the next best thing and dragged his finger across every last morsel on the plate. Â Next was a blackened Mountain Trout Po'Boy which was a REAL trout filet (not some generic frozen thing) that was seasoned perfectly on an incredibly soft roll with organic greens, red onion, & tomatoes. Â Along with this great sandwich were some of the best tasting "home fries" I've ever had. Â The chunks of potato were crusty on the outside and so incredibly soft on the inside that I fear I gave an audible sigh each time I bit into one. Â Talk about a happy meal. Â We also ordered the Pasta Aglio O Olio with Angel Hair Durham Wheat Pasta tossed with anchovy, pan roasted garlic, and fresh oregano topped with percorino romano. Â It was a lovely blend of flavors, but knowing we were going to order dessert, we sort of "saved" it to take home and have for lunch the next day. Â Ahh yes...the dessert. Â They vary day-to-day and both sounded wonderful. Â We went with the Apple Tarte Tatin which was cooked in a cast iron skillet and served with REAL whipped cream. Â From the moment it lands in your mouth, you know you've got something special here. Â It took me back many decades to the wonderful baking my mother did when we were growing up. You know...pure, simple, honest ingredients that take a dish to another level. Â
They have an impressive list of Live Music every night beginning at 8:00pm. Â Â We had gone for an early supper so missed it this time, but will definitely be back many many times in the future! Â Donna & Craig
Lots of sofas and armchairs allowa for s super cozy atmosphere. Â Had a Sisters of the Moon IPA i found tasty. Â I love IPA mpre bang for ypur bick. Â Ate Grits and Hrillades small plate. Â The flank steak was tender and juicy but a little cold compared to the grits with gouda which tasted good too. Â The brown gravy was tasty too. All and all the dish l ooked good and tasted good. Â Not sure of it was worth 10 bucks though. Â Lots of local live music im waiting for a band to start now. Â Had a chicken.salad sandwich the other dau notging specoal but not bad either. Â The servers are friendly enough.
