I'd been coming to Brookings for 35 years and had only been to the Pine Cone once a long time ago. Â It's now a pretty cool place to stop and have a good quality beer and/or cocktail and/or liquor before moving on up the coast. Â The Pine Cone has changed into a hipper place than the tavern it used to be. Â It's kind of a retro-50's place (lodge?) that is really far older than the 1950's. We sampled cocktails and beers and really enjoyed them. Â The bartenders/owners know what they are doing. Â The snack we had was also very good (not large). Â We had smoked salmon spread and pita. Â There is live music every night.
