I really wanted to like this place. I really did!

We walked in and wanted to sit at one table a lady had her person sitting there and refused to move it. She gave us dirty looks when we walked up to sit at the table. instead of making a scene or just sitting down like we should have done, the nephew and i sat at another table.

we looked over the menu and decided on the pizza buffet. the buffet is located in an odd place. you walk through the servers area and it is in a back party room. we ask what the buffet consisted of. we were told salad, pasta, and pizza. i was thinking cool. It was a large bowl of salad, a bowl of pasta salad and 3 pizzas: 1 pepperoni, 1 deluxe, and 1 sausage and ham. i went back up and decided to order off the menu.

here is were they started to really lose stars.
the nephew ate 3 squares of the ham pizza. i asked him if he liked it he said no. that it was ok but not good enough to go get more. i thought really?  a 15 year od boy thinking your pizza is not good enough to walk 10 feet to get. I ended up ordering the Akuma wings and sweet potato fries. i told the nephew that he could order some strips if he wanted to. so he did.

the akuma wings are described as a sweet, sour, spicy asian wing. i did not get sweet or sour or even any spicy. all i tasted was salty. over bearing salty. the sweet potato fries were good. the ranch dressing they serve is very runny and not much flavor in that either.

my nephews strips were ok. but i took one of his fries and they were stone cold. i wish i could tell you i'd go back but i won't.

the server was a nice teenager. and i hated not leaving her a tip. but she still charged me the $7.50 for the pizza buffet that my nephew only ate $2 worth of pizza off of.

Pitchers Sports Pub & Pizzaria is in the former Castletown Geoghegan restaurant in downtown Belleville.

While I'd like to give this place a better review, I just can't. The food just isn't as good as it should be for the price. The pizza is mediocre: It has very little taste, and the thin crust was partly burned both times I've tried it. The cooks or pwners don't seem to understand that good pizza needs quality cheese and quality seasonings.

On the positive side, Pitchers does seem to have an attentive wait staff. That isn't enough, though, for me to recommend it.

Less than what we expected. My husband and I love to try new places to eat. A few of my friends have been talking about this bar and how great the drinks are, since I am pregnant we couldn't go indulge so we thought we would try them for a late lunch.  The bar and restaurant has been open for a few months so I figured they would have worked all the problems out by now but I was mistaken. The first thing I noticed on the menu were curve balls, we know these by many different names from other places we have eaten but for anyone who doesn't they are dime sized cheese balls that are deep fried and served with some kind of dipping sauce usually ranch. When they came both my husband and I sat there for a moment with our mouths open. For $5 we received 14 dime sized balls it was ridiculous. Most places we get these at give you a basket mounded full but not here. What made the appetizer choice even worse was when the table next to us received there nachos ( which cost $1.50 more ) and the plate was piled high with chips, chicken, and cheese. I guess I was expecting more but for plain cheese balls you should get more than 14 or they should charge about $2 tops, I wouldn't pay more, and serve them in a soup cup.
Then my side salad came which was good but not the same as the salad described on the menu. However, even with it missing the ingredients it claimed to include it was the best part of the meal. Finally we ordered a pizza, since this place calls itself a pizzeria and it was disappointing as well. The pizza was supposed to have a garlic Alfredo based sauce which it was clearly missing and just tasted dry. We asked for a side of the sauce and the waitress did get it for us but she seemed surprised saying the cooks had never had anyone ask for that before. I suppose that is probably because before the cooks must have made it properly with the sauce or they simply have never sold this pie before. Needless to say the experience was not great and it will be a long time , if ever, before we would try this place again. Spend your money elsewhere.

OK place but not good as far as food goes. Some of the worse food I have had in a while. If it were not for the fact that at least the beer was cold it would get one star. We had to wait to get drinks for a long time but they appear to be under staffed. Waitress seemed a bit flustered. Maybe things will get better with time. But for now, very disappointing.

Funny thing is the Men's urinals have a flat screen TV right in your face, not 2 inches away from your face actually!!! Got a bit awkward trying to watch the hockey game and bending backwards while peeing. Maybe some small 9 inch screens in front of each would work instead? Or better yet ...... Get rid of it!!!!! I'm not in there to watch TV anyway.

Be interesting to see if this place makes it.

I can not imagine this place being open longer than 6 months. The time it should takes for people to find out how bad the food is here .I ordered the Italian supreme sandwich with fries. The sandwich is thin layer of lunch meat, cheese and a squirt of Italian salad dressing,(thus an Italian supreme)  the fries greasy limp and cold. My 10 year old daughter ordered the garlic Parmesan chicken wings, they arrived swimming in a 1/2 inch puddle of the grease they were fried in. If there was any Parmesan or garlic on the wings it floated away with the grease. The owners of this establishment must be aware of the poor quality of food that is leaving his kitchen and must not care, certainly the waitress bringing it to my table did not care. I would not recommend this place to an enemy.

Friendly atmosphere and staff. The pizza is really good. Lots of other stuff on the menu. Fair pricing for food and drinks. If your in downtown Belleville, give them a try.

I went back, and can tell you the other menu items a very good. What a fun place.
