Okay, initially, I was a bit put off by this place. Â I am a North Jersey girl (by residence, not by heritage. Â I am a midwest girl by birth). Â Anyway, pizza place at a strip mall? Â With vinyl booths? Â That' s not real pizza...
I was a little disappointed by the menu. Â I was with my boyfriend and some of his friends. They are a bit more into "junkier" foods. I was trying to go for a healthier option. Â As you can imagine, the options at a place called "Pizza Como" are few and far between. Â I had a chicken Caesar Salad, with dressing on the side. Â Yeah, creative option, I know. Â The menu is more like a diner than a pizza place.
My food was brought out after everyone else, which I couldn't quite understand. Â Seriously, a chicken Caesar salad takes longer than Philly Cheese Steak Fries (which looked decadently delightful, by the way)? Â I had to watch my friends eat while I awaited my salad.
My initial impression of the salad was disappointment. There were big HUGE chucks of lettuce and it didn't appear to be Romaine, as I would expect with a Caesar. Maybe it was, but didn't seem to be. Â The chicken and olives were VERY generous. Â As I ate my salad, I started to enjoy it. Â How much of that was food quality and how much was the result of diet-induced deprivation, I cannot say. Still, it was fairly decent and satisfying. Â
A quick tip--be sure to check in. Â I checked in right after we paid the bill. Â Had I checked in earlier, I could have saved 10% off our bill.
I have not feedback on the pizza. Â It's a pizza place in name only, it seems.
Enjoy!
