Pizza Pub

good but the smoking in the bar section sucks...........I hope they will wise up and get rid of it and I will return more often!!!!

Working in Clarksville, VA this week, we found a hole-in-the wall Pizza joint called the Pizza Pub.  Expectatations of greasy, thin crust pepperoni and green pepper pie were met, with glee and stained napkins.  

The menu advised us that after 4pm, prices may vary.  So did my interest in finding out why, but interesting enough to photog and post as the first PP pic.

The dark accent lighting and general feel reminded me of Shakeys Pizza in Tysons Corner (long gone, for those of you who know what I'm talking about).  Shakeys introduced me to video games, sticky soda grip tape floors and cracker crust style pizza.  Lollipops and pony rides are possibly the only things that could have made it a better family place.

The staff was pleasant, the pizza was good, the decor was old and dingy, and most importantly, my appetite was surpressed.  Good show, Pizza Pub.  Like.

If you want to blend in, don't enter through the Virginia door - go in the door at the back of the place.  LOL.  I didn't have the pizza, but some colleagues did and it looked pretty darned good.  Unless you're in the mood to eat a lot of pizza, stick with the X-Small or the Small.  The medium is a lot of pizza.

I had the meatball sub and a side of ruffled chips and it was pretty darned good.  There aren't a whole heck of a lot of choices in Clarksville, so this one is definitely worth a try if you're in the area.
