The epitome of higher priced Wellington restaurants and the model for all other mediocre restaurants to follow. Â Great location / views, but have been here enough times to know the food isn't very good and the service is simply awful. Â I have yet to have a good experience here and never will as I will not go back. Â Polo people can keep it for themselves.
Review Source:With out a dought the worst meal we had in Wellington in twenty years. Three of us had what was supposed to be sauteed Snapper It was deep fried I think twice and served ice cold and sent back, I had the salmon It came with some kind of white sauce and again it was ice cold I gave up, but two of the party had a hamburger and a veggie burger The burger was supposed to be med well and was raw the veggie burger was uneatable. Apparently the present owner has given up on this investment. Go to Burger King or subway and you will have a meal ten times better then this place

So to that end, a little background on me as a reviewer, I am a 47 year old hospitality professional, from Boston but living in South Florida for the last 12 years, well-educated and an accomplished cook. Arrival - the entrance is a beautiful covered circular drive with valet. Â The restaurant is down a flight of stairs. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. We did have a reservation.
Atmosphere - was casually elegant with windows overlooking the inviting patio. Â
Service - was adequate with some pet peeves. #1 Â I hate it when the server's recommendation is for the most expensive dish on the menu and/or the highest profit margin dish. Â Either way the customer is not the first consideration. Â #2 Not having a firm grasp of the menu and any out of stock items. The server while amiable committed both offenses.
Food - We shared the duck confit flatbread. The crust was crispy, the rest forgettable. Â Definitely not duck confit, maybe not even duck, it was dry and the goat cheese was bland. For the entrees we tried the miso cod and the recommended meatloaf. Â The cod was served in three pieces, one center cut, the other two tail pieces, unfortunately the plate was obviously left under a heat lamp and only half the plate at that, the tail pieces were hot and dried out while the better center cut was stone cold. The meatloaf was on par with my own but at $24.00 totally overpriced. For dessert, which I order maybe once a year, we got on the server recommended chocolate molten lava cake with vanilla gelato. The cake was average and served with chocolate ice cream. My problem here, was not being informed that they were out of the vanilla gelato, again a lack of concern for the customer experience. They did take it and our cocktails off the bill but I would have rather paid for everything and had a quality experience.
