This place is under new management. If you weren't happy with it before you might want to give it another try. Ate there last night and they seemed to have a lot of business. The prices were low and the food was darn good! It is a comfortable, retro looking diner with a nice hostess and pleasant servers. The menu is mostly typical diner fare with salads, burgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders, plus steaks, fish and my favorite, fried chicken livers. They were yummy. The dinner, a full pound of liver, was served with country gravy for dipping, two sides and bread (a delicious fried yeast roll for $6.99!! My niece had a big salad with fried chicken tenders that were big, juicy and crispy, also for $6.99. Appetizers included hand battered onion rings, mushrooms or pickle chips. Mighty tasty. Don't think they have a website yet but I found their menu on line on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com…. So happy to have another place to eat in Cheatham County.

On our way to IL we found this cafe for lunch with Yelp. It was clean and the server was very friendly. Menu was varied and resonance prices. I had the chicken fajita wrap and my wife had the veggie panni. Both well very tasty. This is great place with local flavor and beats the fast food joints hands down.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: REOPENED UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!

Open again under new management. Big improvement over the last operation that was in there. They probably should have changed the name of the place because it looks just like it did before, and that might keep people away.

The new menu is a step up from the old place. The food was fresher, better tasting and service was improved too. There was a pretty good crowd in there when we went, a big change from the last time. The fish sandwich was well seasoned and tasty, with a crunchy breading. The fish fillet was so big it hung over the bun on both ends. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. If they'd put that fillet on a larger, sourdough roll it would be a home run. Fries were frozen, and a bit undercooked, but passable.

My wife ordered a 6-oz. sirloin, (which was a lot smaller than I would have ordered) and found it cooked the way she ordered it -- medium. Again, a big improvement over the way it was under previous management.

We ran into some neighbors who were also trying the place again, and one of them ordered the chicken livers. They looked really good, so I'm going to give those a go the next time we're in there.

If they keep trying to get more fresh food on the menu (hint: cut your own fries...it's actually cheaper and they would be soooo much better!) the Diner could become a regular place for us.

UPDATE: It looks like this place has closed.

This could be a great place if they tried a bit harder to actually cook. It's a mixture of diner classics (burgers, sandwiches, etc. and "comfort food" like meat loaf). I think they have underestimated the tastes of the population of this area as is becoming more of an upscale (or maybe "midscale") suburb of Nashville. But, alas, it seems the most important tools in their kitchen are a can opener and the handle on the freezer door. With the lack of decent restaurants anywhere nearby, this place could be a gold mine if they would only hire an actual chef!

We swung by this cute place on the way to a cabin trip with friends. The style is retro diner, but the menu may as well be a print of a Sysco catalog. Boyfriend had the burger, it was just okay. I ended up going with some kind of chicken dinner that ended up being straight from the bag chicken strips with pre-packages sauces. Sides were bland and unmemorable.

Drawn to the " fresh never frozen, hand pattied burgers" and fries. Burger couldn't have been more than 4ozs (no where near worth the price) but the fries were excellent. $8 just to much for to little. I'd really like to give the place a better review, just can't do it with a good conscience.
